My sister got me four tickets to the Adidas D Rose Tour 3 on 3 Grand Finals at the Araneta Coliseum yesterday. The upper box ticket is free seating so we made sure we get on the front of the queue at the gate.
We arrived 7:30 am and noticed that there is no queue yet at the green gate. We went to Goto King for breakfast located near the red gate. Surprisingly, there was already around fifty people waiting.
We returned to the green gate thirty minutes later and I was still able to secure the front of the line.
My nephew and his girlfriend arrived an hour later.
The seats at the upper box section filled up in a matter of minutes. We were lucky to secure a spot facing the stage. I really wished we had lower box tickets but the distance of our seats is decent enough to enjoy the activities on the court.
The 3 on 3 basketball game started 11 am. There were 16 teams -- 12 from the Philippines and the other teams are from Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
Philippine College of Criminology has the most number of supporters present. But it was Thailand and Arellano University who made it to the Finals. Thailand emerged as the winner.
Flip Ballaz performed amazing basketball tricks. It was my first time to witness a live performance of that kind and I was impressed. Also present were Chris Tiu, Josh Urbiztondo, James and Phil Younghusband, Anne Curtis, Karylle, Belle Daza, Sam YG, Slick Rick and Tony Toni.
Four hours later...
Seeing Derrick Rose in person was worth the long hours of waiting. I was able to take a video when he came out of the stage. Sadly, I could not capture a nice photo from where I was seated.
We spent the whole day at the Adidas D Rose Tour. Tired but happy. It was a wonderful experience. We had our photos taken before heading home.
