It was through my sister, a super Lee Min Ho fanatic, that I got to know that Kyochon is opening a branch in the Philippines. My sister is so excited because Lee Min Ho is endorsing the brand. I got excited because I wrote an article about Kyochon six years ago and I'll finally get to taste Korea's number one and first double-fried chicken.
While I was deciding which fried chicken variant to order, my sister just can't get enough of Lee Min Ho. She was even asking the crew if Kyochon will bring Lee Min Ho to the Philippines. I'm sure she'll buy five dozens of Kyochon chicken if that will secure her an access pass. She's been to every Lee Min Ho event in the Philippines!
Kyochon's flagship branch is located at the ground floor of SM Megamall in building B near the Julia Vargas entrance.
I love the interior of the restaurant. It feels cozy and casual. I also love the wooden tables and chairs and the matching wooden floor.
There are four variants of chicken to choose from: the Original Series, the Red Series, the Honey Series and the Soonsal Series.
I ordered the Red Series. I was warned that this is really spicy. And true enough, it was very spicy. But my husband liked it. I'll order the Honey Series next time. We had the chicken for take out. I'm looking forward to dining in the restaurant soon.
She seriously wanted to bring home the Lee Min Ho standee!
Verdict: I'll definitely be back! Kyochon tastes better compared to the other Korean double-fried chicken that opened here in the Philippines in 2010.
