Michelin Star Dim Sum: Tim Ho Wan Manila

11/23/14

Ever since Tim Ho Wan opened its flagship branch at the Fashion Hall of SM Megamall last May, there's always a queue by the time the clock strikes eleven. I was not able to eat at Tim Ho Wan while in Hong Kong because the lines across its branches are also crazy long. Last Thursday, me and my dear friend Josephine agreed to meet up at 10 am and head directly to Tim Ho Wan to avoid the queue.

A must try is Tim Ho Wan's Baked Buns with BBQ Pork. We Filipinos are accustomed to steamed buns that's why a lot of Pinoys (including me) are curious to try the Baked Buns.

The bun is sweet and crunchy but soft as your teeth sink into the sweet and tender BBQ pork. An order costs PhP145.

The Pork Rib with Black Bean Sauce is spicy but not overwhelming. My sister will surely like this.

My friend ordered Vermicelli Roll with Shrimp (PhP190). She said this tasted a bit different from the one she ordered in Singapore. I'm allergic to shrimp so I can't tell if this is good. She said it's a bit bland but it's okay.

My Vermicelli Roll with BBQ Pork (PhP160) has the same filling as the Baked Buns I ordered. I should have tried the Pork Dumpling instead.

Mango Pomelo Sago (PhP80) for dessert.

Overall, it was a satisfying gastronomic experience for us. The food is affordable and delicious. Looking forward to dining here soon to try the other dishes available on the menu.
