Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen Kind Of Sunday

5/26/15

irrashaimase!!!

This is the usual greeting you receive whenever you enter a Japanese restaurant. When hubby and I entered Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen located at the 5th level of Shangri-la Plaza East Wing the staff cheerfully greeted us in chorus.

This is our first time to dine at Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen so I asked her (geesh, no name plate! I wasn't able to get her name) for the bestseller. She suggested that I order Ajitama Tonkotsu.

Ajitama Tonkotsu, PhP380
Topped with a special half-boiled egg
that is fully marinated with a special blended soy sauce base.

Tonkotsu ramen, a very popular regional style of ramen, is a speciality of its origin Kyushu region in Japan. It is characterized by thin, straight noodles in rich creamy pork broth, which is the result of boiling pork bones with several seasonings for many hours to ensure the rich pork extract and hearty flavour. http://www.ikkoryu.ph/

Spicy Tobanjan Tonkotsu, PhP380
Ramen with spicy Tobanjan paste

Hubby ordered the Spicy Tobanjan Tonkotsu. This bowl is really spicy and somehow I like this over the Ajitama Tonkotsu which is a bit salty for my taste.

You'll be asked for your noodle preference -- soft, normal and hard. The normal noodle is somewhat chewy to the bite. I might try the soft noodle next time. Prepare to spend PhP1,000 for the meal.
