The Filipino-Swiss race car Marlon Stockinger has been named as the official mentor and guest judge of the finalists in the first Nissan GT Academy Philippines. Stockinger is the first Filipino to win victories in the 2010 Michelin Formula Renault UK Championship. He is currently driving for the Lotus F1 Junior team and the 2015 Renault World Series.
Marlon Stockinger will mentor the finalists in the Race Camp Week happening in August 21-30, 2015. The Philippine winner will compete against the best from other Asian countries such as India, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia. The emerging champ in Asia will join the other winners from GT Academy Europe and GT Academy International to train at Silverstone for Driver Development Program.
Nissan Philippines, Inc. President and Managing Director Antonio Zara believes that Stockinger's extensive racing experience and knowledge will help the finalists in the Race Camp Week achieve the dream of bringing home the honor of being the first Filipino GT Academy Asia champion.
"While I am happy to share my knowledge and experience in racing, nothing beats the determination and drive to succeed in this demanding sport. Remember, all my tips, all my coaching are for nothing if the finalist will not work hard to get the ultimate prize: winning the top spot and being called the champion," Stockinger said.
General Manager for Marketing SJ Huh announced that ABS-CBN Sports and Action channel will be broadcasting the Silverstone UK Finals.
There are already 13,000 virtual drivers who competed for the top 20 spot. If you are still snatch a slot in the top 20, the last leg of the Nissan GT Academy will be held on June 26,27 and 28, 2015 at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center.

For Marlon Stockinger's fans who wished to see him in action, he will be showing off his racing chops during the Globe Slipstream event on June 27 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
"I would like to invite everyone to come and visit me at the Globe Slipstream event. I am happy that Nissan is a part of this activity by conducting a GT Academy Official Live Event onsite. Racing hopefuls who want to qualify in the top 20 can try out using the GTA Pods on display.", Stockinger said.
