My Battle Against Acne: Zits Control Regimen

10/20/14

It has been a year since my last facial treatment. Finally I was able to drag myself to Cardinal Santos Medical Center to pamper my skin.

My dermatologist, Dr. Grace Chua-Ty asked me, "What is your specific concern this time?" (It sounded like "You only go here when you have a major problem!! hahaha!!) She also asked me about my regimen. I said I've been using Olay Regenerist Night Resurfacing Essence and Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream in the past two months. She asked me if I don't get too oily. I love the Regenerist but the CC Cream feels heavy and greasy.

I have actually told her twelve months ago that I can't seem to find a toner that will suit me. She suggested that I try SkinMedica Purifying Toner for oily or acne-prone skin. I was advised to use it only at night. I'm using this for four days already and gladly there's no drying of the skin.

Even at age 38, I still suffer from breakouts whenever my hormones are crazily imbalanced. So that's once a month. I also have a zit problem on the chin area. It's because of the toothpaste. I have actually seen a VMV  Hypoallergenics toothpaste that do not cause pimples.

She also prescribed me the BPO + ERY Gel for spot treatment of my zits. She guaranteed that my pimples will dry up in two days. And yes, it's true!!!

My skin was a bit reddish especially on the cheeks area but the pimples on my chin area has flattened and dried up after two days. I vowed to undergo facial treatment as often as necessary (once every quarter I guess is a major improvement compared to once a year).

My dermatologist holds clinic at Cardinal Santos Medical Center every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. On other days, you can have your consultation and treatments at Chinese General Hospital.
