A Happy Shade of Blue

1/24/18

I never thought that I would have a fascination with blue. My wedding motif was mandarin orange and most of the things I own come in red. The 2018 pantone color of the year is ultra violet. And yet I woke up one day wanting a different shade.

I want a pop of color. I want blue. Not just any blue. I want a happy shade of blue.

I want a blue that reminds me of my happy childhood. The Easter eggs we paint in the evening that my parents hide the following day and we will hunt after hearing the mass.

I want a blue that reminds me of my mom. The colored chalks she brought home from school that I used to write on the floor.

I want a blue that reminds me of the sky. Knowing my dad is looking below with a smile.

I want a blue that reminds me of the beach. The romantic getaways with my husband away from the crowd.

Finally, I want a blue that reminds me of the kitchen. Of cooking fish and meat, healthy green vegetables and golden yolk eggs.

I want a blue that tells a story of me.

What's your color?

I say it's up to you to #ChooseTheRightHue because no trend should dictate it for you. Make it personal. Make it something that reminds you of everything that makes you happy.
