Heat Stroke Grill in Marikina

3/10/17

I've been to Montare Events Place and Food Hub four times already and one of the many reasons why I keep coming back is the food they serve at Heat Stroke Grill. HSG recently celebrated its first anniversary and Karlo Paredes invited me last week to taste the new dishes on the menu.

Are you ready to salivate?

Whet your appetite with Grilled Scallops. An order is meant for sharing but it's not a sin to enjoy this alone. And don't be shy slurping the sauce!

A perfect pulutan is the Grilled Pork Belly Kilawin. Heat Stroke Grill uses sukang Iloko in this dish. A bit spicy and worthy of the hashtag #HSGKilawinForTheWin

Heat Stroke Grill's Baby Back Ribs is grilled not baked. How it was cooked made a lot of difference. The meat is not dry and definitely fork tender.

My all-time favorite is the Grilled Pork Binagoongan. The grilled pork made the taste of this dish standout from other binagoongan I've tasted. The bagoong is also not malansa. The finger chili, onions and tomatoes are crunchy! Extra rice worthy!!

A dish Pampanga is famous for is the sisig. But you need not travel far to satisfy your craving. Heat Stroke Grill's version of Pork Sisig won't disappoint. Prefer spicy? You can request for more chili. Also available is the Chicken Sisig.

Want something on stick? Order the Chicken Kebab. Don't forget to request for the Harissa sauce!

Heat Stroke Grill Entree

Your choice of meat, rice and sauce for only P160.

Pork Belly Inasal. Another favorite of mine, the Pork Belly Inasal is best paired with Jaun-Rice and chimichurri sauce.

HSG Chicken. Tender chicken marinated in rich Asian sauce and grilled to perfection.

Rice options:

Jaun-Rice. Yellow rice with a hint of garlic
Spiced Melano Rice. Sweet and spicy rice
Albino Rice. Simply because some want it plain

Sauce options:

Chimichurri. Argentina's green sauce
Harissa. Grilled pepper, garlic, spices and cumin
Teriyaki. Asian sauce

Also available: HSG Sweet Sauce and Sinamak
