It is undeniable that many young athletes in the field of weightlifting were inspired with the achievements of Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo. One of them 18-year old Rosegie Ramos. Rosegie is a grade 10 student of Mampang National High School in Zamboanga.
Rosegie recently brought honor to the country by winning three gold medals at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships held at Tashkent City, Uzbekistan. She registered her best score in snatch (71 kg), clean and jerk (90 kg), and total (161 kg) in the Junior division category of the competition. Prior to this competition, she has also won bronze medal in the women's 49 kg category from the Southeast Asian Games held in Vietnam last May.
