I grew up in a time when technology isn't a thing yet. Aside from watching limited television shows, me and my sisters spend our bonding time playing board games. Board games are both entertaining and brain stimulating. From a simple game of tic-tac-toe to a more challenging game of chess (which sadly I didn't learn), we spend hours playing excitedly hoping to win.
Now that we are all grown ups and have families of our own, we make sure that we still play board games whenever we go out of town for vacation. It is more convenient now because we can play board games anytime and anywhere without bringing too many boxes of the games we love as kids.
Here are some of my favorite childhood board games that I can now play online alone or with my loved ones and friends:
Tic Tac Toe
I was in 2nd grade when I first learned to play Tic Tac Toe. It is played by two players who take turns marking spaces with X and O. The first to mark three horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row of X or O is the winner. You can play the Ultimate Tic Tac Toe game online and choose 1 player if you don't have anyone to play with.
Chutes and Ladders
Playing board game creates more happiness when there are more participants. My family's most played board game is the Snakes and Ladders. Each of us have our favorite colored token. When you roll the dice and it lands on the ladder, you go up. If it's the snakes, you go down. The first to reach the finish line wins. Up to 6 players can play this fun game. Both kids and adults can participate.
I was already in college when I was introduced to Uno. Ideally, up to four players can participate in this game. The goal is to be the first one to lay down all the cards.
My favorite "me-time" game is Reversi. Although this can be played with a human opponent, I most enjoy this game when I'm against the computer.
