QSR giant McDonald’s Philippines, owned and operated by Chairman & Founder Dr. George T. Yang, and President & CEO Kenneth Yang, celebrates another milestone of the Golden Arches in the country with the opening of its 700th McDonald’s Store in Nuvali—its fifth flagship Green & Good store in the Philippines.
McDonald’s Green & Good initiative is the company’s commitment to do better for the environment by equipping its restaurants with sustainable restaurant innovations with its use of green building and utility-efficient solutions like solar rooftops and lampposts, grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, a rainwater harvesting tank, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) Aircon System, among others, that help in the reduction of emissions.
McDonald’s newest Green & Good store in Laguna also has bike-friendly features that include a Bike & Dine facility and a dedicated Bike Repair Station to cater to the needs of the growing cycling community of Nuvali—Ayala Land’s largest eco-estate and one of the country’s premier biking destinations.
“McDonald’s newest Green & Good store in Nuvali is another step in strengthening our commitment to environmental sustainability. Our goal is to continue to test and learn alternative solutions in how we operate our restaurants. With every Green & Good store that we open, we can determine and integrate better green building and utility-efficient solutions in more of the restaurants that we will open in the coming years,” said Kenneth S. Yang, President and Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s Philippines.
With the opening of its 700th Store, McDonald’s Philippines will end 2022 with 45 new stores in different areas across the country.
“This 700th store milestone not only shows our growth over the years, starting with our first restaurant in Morayta in 1981, but it also represents our commitment to the future. As we introduce innovative solutions that elevate the customer experience and create positive impact to communities like Green & Good, we are excited to be a better McDonald’s for many more years to come,” Yang said.
With the growth of McDonald’s store network, every new McDonald’s store provides between 80-100 jobs for residents of local communities and neighboring municipalities through its direct hiring practice; keeping in step with McDonald’s commitment to provide employment and career opportunities for Filipinos.
McDonald’s 700th store is located along Nature Road, Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Other McDonald’s Green & Good stores include McDonald’s UN Del Pilar (Manila), Shaw Boulevard Wack-Wack (Mandaluyong), Mambugan (Antipolo), Delos Reyes (Tagaytay) and Sta. Monica (Commonwealth Quezon City) opening on December 30. McDonald’s Nuvali is open 24 hours daily, and is open for Dine-In, Take-out, Ride-thru, McDelivery, McCafĂ© and McDo Parties.
