Apple Premium Reseller Power Mac Center (PMC) celebrated its 29th year by staging a series of live audio-digital crossover experiences featuring OPM icons and emerging artists.
In this streaming age when music from all over the world has become readily available at one’s fingertips, PMC aims to put the Filipino brand of music front and center and give our local artists a unique platform to share it.
“Sync Sessions is an original concept from way back that allows artists and fans to experience music in unique and innovative ways, as our featured bands and solo artists use Apple devices as instruments. As we consume more and more digital content, we also want to showcase the beauty of the live human experience of coming together to enjoy music,” said Joey Alvarez, PMC Director for Marketing and Product Management.
To bring the audio-digital experience to more customers, it was staged in different locations in Metro Manila over five consecutive Saturdays, from August 26 to September 23.
It kicked off at Eastwood, featuring Bullet Dumas, alongside Sync Sessions veterans Ang Bandang Shirley, Sandwich, and Jess Connelly, who was with frequent collaborator LustBass. It was followed by Jakarta-raised Filipino hip hop artist Young Cocoa and—another Sync Sessions pro—Filipino indie folk band Munimuni on September 2 at SM Makati.
The third leg saw R&B singer Jason Dhakal with yet another Sync Sessions headliner, Autotelic, playing it for the UP Town Center crowd on September 9. The following Saturday, Zild rocked what he called a “rare short electronic set” at Robinsons Magnolia, alongside Filipino alternative rock band SOS, and singer-songwriter, record producer, and YouTuber Lesha, who said she taught herself music production on an iPad mini and MacBook before.
Capping off the series is the powerhouse lineup composed of soulful pop duo Leanne & Naara, OPM icon Ebe Dancel, “Muli” crooner Ace Banzuelo, and indie pop rock band This Band performing before the jampacked crowd at Festival Mall in Alabang.
The events were hosted by social media personalities Vince Velasco, Samm Alvero, and Aryn Cristobal. Audience members were in for a surprise as lucky participants got to take home exclusive Sync Sessions merchandise, PMC gift certificates, and awesome prizes from PMC partners Amazing Thing, Belkin, JBL, PanzerGlass, Sony, and SoundCore by Anker.
Music production for content creators
Sync Sessions is an initiative that puts the power of the human talent at the center of technological advancement. Beyond the stage, it aims to empower Filipinos to maximize Apple technology through discovering new ways to make music that is unique.
“Many of the artists we invited have long been using Apple devices for their music. PMC hopes to inspire a new generation of musicians and content creators alike to keep discovering their voice and express it through their chosen medium or channel—be it music, film, or even vlog. We hope to provide the tools that make individuals stand out and reach their dreams,” Alvarez said.
At present, PMC is rolling out its 30th anniversary year-long celebration with the theme “30 Years of Transforming Experiences Through Lifestyle Innovations.” It is also gearing up for the much-anticipated iPhone 15 launch.
