The spotlight is set on Sam Rivera, better known in the dance scene as Nemesis, as she gears up to represent the Philippines at the Red Bull Dance Your Style 2025 World Finals. Happening on October 11–12 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, the competition will see Nemesis showcase her freestyle moves, high-energy Krump style, and that uniquely Filipino rhythm that makes her stand out.
From Cebu to the World
Nemesis isn’t new to the Red Bull stage. After competing in 2024, she came back stronger in 2025 and claimed the National Finals crown in her hometown Cebu. That victory earned her the chance to go head-to-head with champions from over 50 countries, each bringing their own flavor and creativity to the global freestyle stage.
For Nemesis, the journey isn’t just about winning but also about representing Pinoy dancers with pride.
Preparing for LA Battles
Behind her electrifying performances is a mix of discipline, instinct, and heart. Nemesis shared that her style relies on raw creativity. “This year I’m really in it to win, but I also remind myself to have fun on stage. I don’t prepare sets—I just condition my body, trust my instincts, and let the music guide me.”
More than just the physical grind, Nemesis emphasizes the importance of mindset. “I’m preparing mentally and emotionally for the pressure because LA is where the best dancers are. But I see it as an opportunity to learn from them.”
Her goal? To give an unforgettable performance that will leave the world saying: “Wow, this is what Filipino dancers are like!”
The Global Dance Showdown
The Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals Week runs from October 7–11, featuring battles, workshops, and cultural exchanges among some of the world’s best street dancers. The main event happens on October 11 (9 PM PDT) / October 12 (12 NN Philippine time) at the Intuit Dome.
In this one-on-one freestyle format, the twist is that the audience decides who wins—making each battle unpredictable, electric, and truly for the crowd. Fans from around the globe can watch the action live on Red Bull TV.
