A new national retail platform in Makati brings regional products closer to high-value markets and strengthens support for MSMEs across the Philippines.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has officially opened the Bagong Pilipinas MSME Hub at the Ground Floor of the DTI Filinvest Building in Makati City, a move set to transform how regional entrepreneurs reach urban consumers. Launched on December 4, 2025, the Hub represents a major step forward in building a stronger, more innovative, and more competitive MSME ecosystem.
The event gathered government leaders headed by DTI Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, industry partners, regional MSME representatives, and development organizations, highlighting the Hub’s role as a long-term platform for empowering local entrepreneurs and promoting Filipino craftsmanship.
A New Pathway for MSMEs to Reach Prime Markets
For many small businesses outside Metro Manila, entering mainstream retail has always been a challenge due to limited networks, high operational costs, and difficulty accessing busy commercial districts. The Bagong Pilipinas MSME Hub addresses these barriers by giving entrepreneurs a premium and permanent retail space right in the bustling center of Makati.
Here, MSMEs can showcase their products, observe real-time customer behavior, and refine their strategies based on credible sales performance. The setup supports better production planning, pricing decisions, supply management, and overall brand elevation empowering regional entrepreneurs to compete in high-value markets.
A Curated Retail Experience that Celebrates Filipino Talent
Visitors to the Hub are treated to a thoughtfully designed 300-square-meter space featuring curated sections across apparel, accessories, home décor, artworks, Halal-certified products, coconut innovations, and specialty food items.
Lighting, textures, and storytelling elements highlight the creativity behind each product, giving guests a deeper appreciation of how Filipino MSMEs have grown through DTI’s trade fairs, design interventions, and upskilling initiatives. The Hub not only showcases products, it celebrates the identities and communities they represent.
Auro Café Adds a Warm, Homegrown Touch
The Hub also features Auro Café, a proudly Filipino brand offering drinks and dishes inspired by local ingredients. By sourcing from farming communities, Auro Café enhances the space with a welcoming spot where visitors can connect, unwind, or learn the stories behind the products they discover.
This café experience supports the Hub’s purpose as both a retail platform and a community space that encourages collaboration and meaningful engagement.
Building on Tatak Pinoy and the Vision for Future Growth
During the launch, Assistant Secretary Nylah Bautista emphasized that the Hub reflects the Tatak Pinoy Strategy, saying:
“The MSME Hub embodies the Tatak Pinoy Strategy strengthening our ability to produce, create, and innovate globally competitive Filipino products. This space is not just a store; it is part of a larger ecosystem that supports our MSMEs through digitalization, diversification, and continuous mentoring.”
She added that by scaling the Hub model across regions and integrating it with the OTOP Hub network, more Filipino MSMEs will gain the visibility and structure needed to succeed in a modern economy.
A Scalable Model for National Expansion
The Hub will continue to evolve with rotating showcases, regional spotlights, and thematic collections ensuring diverse representation of MSMEs nationwide. Its replicable and scalable design allows DTI to roll out similar market-access platforms in more regions, strengthening the national ecosystem for local enterprises.
Now Open to the Public
The DTI Bagong Pilipinas MSME Hub is open Mondays to Fridays, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to explore the space, enjoy Auro Café, and discover high-quality products crafted by Filipino entrepreneurs.
Every visit not only supports small businesses but also contributes to a more resilient MSME sector, an essential pillar of the country’s long-term growth.
