Summer dressing does not have to be complicated. This season, UNIQLO proves that everyday style can be both effortless and exciting with the launch of its 2026 Spring/Summer collection, built around one core idea: Ultimate Basic.
Recently unveiled at an exclusive media preview in Intramuros, the new collection stays true to UNIQLO’s LifeWear philosophy, which focuses on making clothes that improve everyday life. Instead of chasing trends, the brand highlights pieces designed to be worn, repeated, and enjoyed, all while feeling comfortable in the heat.
The result is a line that blends function and personality through thoughtful fabrics, relaxed silhouettes, and playful colors that fit perfectly into warm-weather routines.
Designed for Real Life, Not Just the Season
The idea of “Ultimate Basic” comes from how people actually live today. According to UNIQLO, modern consumers want clothing that works across different moments of the day while still allowing room for self-expression.
“At UNIQLO, our goal is to create clothes designed for life’s needs, following our LifeWear philosophy,” said Geraldine Sia, Chief Operating Officer of UNIQLO Philippines. “Our new collection presents clothes that are light and airy to wear, fresh to look at, and fun to style, because we want everyone to enjoy the warm weather to the fullest.”
Staples such as jeans, T-shirts, linen, shorts, and Sport Utility Wear remain at the heart of the collection. However, these familiar pieces have been refreshed with new colors, improved materials, and smarter construction.
UNIQLO Philippines Marketing Director Jan Ang shared that the brand focused on upgrading essentials rather than reinventing them. “We’ve got new styles, colors, and patterns for everyone to get creative with this season,” she said. “As always, there are innovations and new technology for enhanced and functional comfort.”
Local Celebrities Show How to Wear the Ultimate Basic
During the preview, UNIQLO also introduced its refreshed lineup of Filipino celebrity partners, each representing a key category in the collection.
Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli showcased Core T-shirts and Linen pieces, while Solenn Heussaff highlighted the versatility of linen for everyday wear. Anthony Constantino represented the Jeans collection, Kianna Dy modeled UV Protection pieces, and Alexa Ilacad brought attention to the Bra Top line.
Each ambassador demonstrated how simple basics can be styled differently depending on personality and lifestyle.
Urban Rome Inspires Relaxed Summer Dressing
One of the major style influences for the season comes from urban Rome, known for its effortless mix of structure and ease. The collection features relaxed outfits such as oversized shirts paired with shorts, creating looks that work just as well for city days as they do for summer trips.
Clean lines, crisp whites, and architectural simplicity are reflected in the designs, making the pieces easy to mix and match. Linen plays a major role here, offering breathability and movement without sacrificing polish.
Sarah Geronimo, who wore linen paired with a Core T-shirt at the event, shared her take on the look. “You can wear a different combination every day and still get the ultimate satisfaction, because both are comfortable and versatile,” she said. “So just have fun with it. Express your mood with your color and style.”
Yes, You Can Still Wear Jeans in Summer
Contrary to the idea that denim is too heavy for warm weather, UNIQLO’s 2026 jeans are designed with summer comfort in mind. The brand focused on three qualities: style, comfort, and timelessness.
Each pair, including Baggy Jeans and EZY Jeans, is built around the three Fs: Fit, Fabric, and Finish. These elements ensure the jeans feel light, move easily, and hold their shape over time.
Model Anthony Constantino summed it up best. “The UNIQLO jeans are definitely fire,” he said. “It’s the perfect example of Ultimate Basic. It’s an old reliable upgraded with better fabric and craftsmanship. You will go to bed wearing this if you can.”
Amalfi Coast Vibes and Summer-Ready Pieces
For a softer, seaside feel, UNIQLO also draws inspiration from the Amalfi Coast. Lighter fabrics and brighter hues dominate this part of the collection.
Standout pieces include the Women’s Ribbed Cropped Bra Top, AIRism Bra Sleeveless Top, Premium Linen Longsleeve Shirt, and Linen Blend Easy Pants. AIRism innerwear also makes a strong showing, offering breathable options that help beat the heat.
Alexa Ilacad shared her appreciation for the updated Bra Top designs. “It’s light and low maintenance,” she said. “I’m enjoying the new hues and patterns. Never be afraid to try and explore.”
Sun Protection That Fits Everyday Style
Summer confidence also means protecting your skin. UNIQLO’s UV Protection line introduces pieces like the Ultra Stretch AIRism UV Protection Full-Zip Hoodie, which offers sun protection along with a cool-to-touch feel.
Athlete Kianna Dy shared why these items are now staples in her wardrobe. “Wearing something with UV protection gives me peace of mind,” she said. “Plus, the colors and casual styles make it perfect for everyday looks.”
UNIQLO also debuts a new eyewear line this season, featuring frames designed to complement a wide range of outfits.
Collaborations and Sustainability at the Core
The event featured dedicated spaces for UNIQLO’s major collaborations, including UNIQLO : C, UNIQLO U, and UNIQLO × Comptoir des Cotonniers, alongside the summer UT lineup. Expect new graphic designs featuring MoMA, Disney, Powerpuff Girls, SHUEISHA 100, BABYMONSTER, and more.
UNIQLO also reinforced its commitment to sustainability through initiatives like PEACE FOR ALL, which has raised over JPY 2.88 billion since 2022. The brand continues to support UNHCR, Plan International, and Save the Children through this project.
Meanwhile, RE.UNIQLO Studio encourages customers to repair, refresh, and personalize their LifeWear items. New Disney patches are now available at select flagship stores in Manila, Mall of Asia, and BGC High Street.
