Taking care of your liver might not always be top of mind, but it should be. In celebration of World Liver Day, Essentiale Forte P brought liver wellness into the spotlight with its immersive “Atay Aksyon Nation” experience in Makati.
Held over two days, the initiative aimed to educate, engage, and empower Filipinos to take a more proactive approach to liver care through interactive and accessible activities.
A Two-Day Immersive Health Experience at One Ayala
The event took place at One Ayala, transforming the space into a vibrant hub focused on liver health. Visitors explored interactive stations, joined activities, and participated in guided experiences designed to simplify complex health information.
“Atay Aksyon” made learning about liver care more engaging by combining education with hands-on experiences, helping attendees better understand how to protect their health.
Free Medical Consultations and Expert Advice
One of the key highlights was access to free on-site consultations with liver health specialists. Attendees had the opportunity to receive personalized advice and better understand their current health status.
According to Dr. Anna Guia Limpoco, the liver plays a critical role in the body, performing over 500 essential functions. She emphasized that millions of Filipinos may already have liver issues without realizing it, as symptoms often do not appear early.
She also warned that many people tend to skip regular check-ups, especially when they feel healthy, which can delay early detection.
Medical experts at the event highlighted simple yet effective ways to maintain liver health. Dr. Karen De Luna stressed the importance of a balanced diet, regular exercise, and responsible use of medication.
She also noted that some individuals may benefit from hepatoprotective medicines, which can provide anti-inflammatory and antioxidant support backed by clinical studies.
Making Liver Health More Relatable for Filipinos
Beyond medical discussions, the campaign focused on making liver care more relatable and actionable. Gheck Barlis shared that many Filipinos only pay attention to their liver when serious issues arise.
The goal of “Atay Aksyon” is to encourage early action and make liver health part of everyday routines, not just something to think about during health scares.
Ogie Alcasid Advocates Early Action
Adding a personal touch to the campaign, Ogie Alcasid, also known as “Tatay Atay,” encouraged Filipinos to prioritize their liver health.
He shared that the liver often stays silent even when problems begin, making it important to take preventive steps early. Through the campaign, he hopes more people will be inspired to take action and include liver care in their daily lives.
Extending the Advocacy Beyond the Event
The initiative goes beyond the two-day experience. Partnering with Mercury Drug Foundation and Mercury Drug, Essentiale launched a buy-and-donate program.
For every ten capsules purchased, one capsule is donated to support underserved communities. The brand is also rolling out a year-long SGPT testing initiative in select Mercury Drug branches to promote early detection and awareness nationwide.
“Atay Aksyon Nation” is a timely reminder that liver health should never be taken for granted. With accessible education, expert guidance, and community-driven initiatives, Essentiale Forte P is helping Filipinos take meaningful steps toward better health.
If you have not checked on your liver health recently, now is a good time to start. Small lifestyle changes today can make a big difference in the long run.
