Dyson CameraJet Brings a Camera to Toothbrushing

Thursday, September 10, 2026

Dyson CameraJet electric toothbrush with integrated camera and precision jet

A toothbrush that can see between your teeth sounds like something from a futuristic bathroom. Dyson is making that idea a reality with the new Dyson CameraJet, an electric toothbrush equipped with a camera and machine learning designed to identify gaps between teeth and direct a precision jet of mouthrinse at them while you brush.

Dyson introduced the CameraJet in Paris on September 1, 2026. The company says the device is the result of six years of research and development and combines a 100,000-pixel macro camera, machine learning, sonic brushing and a targeted mouthrinse jet in one connected dental system.

The bigger story, however, is not simply another high-tech toothbrush. Dyson is trying to address one of the most easily overlooked parts of an everyday oral-care routine: the spaces between the teeth.

Why is Dyson putting a camera inside a toothbrush?

Brushing your teeth is something most people do automatically. Knowing whether you are actually reaching every area is another matter.

Dyson's CameraJet uses what the company calls Gap Optical Targeting, a machine-learning system that analyzes images from the toothbrush's integrated camera. According to Dyson, the camera captures 28 live images per second and can identify, track and predict gaps between teeth. When a gap is detected, the system triggers a targeted burst of mouthrinse.

In simple terms, the toothbrush is designed to determine where you need extra cleaning rather than simply delivering the same brushing action everywhere.

That distinction is what makes the CameraJet different from a conventional electric toothbrush.

What is Gap Optical Targeting?

Gap Optical Targeting is Dyson's machine-learning technology for identifying spaces between teeth. The CameraJet uses a 100,000-pixel macro camera to scan the mouth in real time. Dyson says the system can detect a gap and activate its precision jet within 100 milliseconds.

The system was trained using 470,000 dental images collected during development, according to Dyson.

The problem Dyson is trying to solve

Interdental cleaning refers to cleaning the spaces between teeth, where an ordinary toothbrush may not reach effectively.

It is also an important part of oral hygiene. The World Health Organization says oral diseases affect an estimated 3.7 billion people worldwide, while tooth decay and periodontal, or gum, disease remain among the most common oral-health conditions.

WHO also emphasizes that many oral-health conditions are preventable and that removing plaque is an important part of maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

That helps explain the thinking behind Dyson's approach.

Instead of asking users to remember several separate steps, the CameraJet attempts to combine brushing and interdental cleaning into a single routine.

How does the Dyson CameraJet work?

The CameraJet combines several technologies in one device.

A camera that looks inside your mouth

The integrated camera works like a miniature endoscope. It provides a live view that users can access through the MyDyson app.

Dyson says the camera is active only during live viewing or automatic jetting. The company also states that images are not recorded or stored on the device or in the cloud.

That privacy detail is worth noting because putting a camera inside an everyday personal-care device naturally raises questions about where those images go.

A targeted mouthrinse jet

Once the system identifies an interdental gap, the CameraJet sends a conical burst of mouthrinse toward it.

Dyson says it developed the jet after years of fluid-dynamics testing. The company compared its design with the narrower “needle-type” jets commonly associated with water flossers and developed a wider conical spray intended to cover more of the targeted area at lower pressure.

The device has a 12.5ml mouthrinse tank, which Dyson says is designed to provide the amount needed during a cleaning session.

A brush head designed around the shape of teeth

The brush head uses two types of bristles.

The firmer inner bristles are intended to address surface stains, while softer outer bristles are designed to clean around the gumline.

Dyson has also developed a sensitive version for people who need a gentler brushing experience. Each brush head has an RFID tag that tracks usage and alerts users when replacement is needed, according to the company.

What makes the CameraJet different from a regular electric toothbrush?

The biggest difference is feedback.

A conventional electric toothbrush provides the brushing action. Some connected toothbrushes already provide information about brushing time, pressure or coverage.

The CameraJet adds another layer by using a camera to identify specific areas between the teeth and then responding to what it sees.

The MyDyson app also provides guided cleaning, brushing and flossing insights, coverage mapping and personalized feedback. Users can choose between automatic detection and manual jetting modes and adjust brushing intensity.

That makes the CameraJet less like a simple appliance and more like a connected oral-care system.

Does it replace flossing?

This is where consumers should be careful with the marketing language.

Dyson describes the CameraJet as precision-flossing between teeth while brushing. However, the device should not be interpreted as a substitute for professional dental care.

The broader principle remains straightforward: daily brushing and cleaning between teeth are important parts of oral hygiene, and regular dental checkups remain necessary.

For anyone with gum disease, dental implants, orthodontic appliances, sensitive teeth or other dental concerns, the appropriate cleaning method can vary. A dentist or dental hygienist can provide advice based on an individual's needs.

Dyson is also changing the rest of the brushing routine

The CameraJet is part of a larger Dyson Dental System, rather than a standalone toothbrush.

The system includes a charging dock, travel case, toothpaste and mouthrinse designed to work with the CameraJet. Dyson's toothpaste uses a non-foaming formulation, which the company says helps keep foam from interfering with the camera's view.

The charging dock is also designed to refill the device with mouthrinse at the touch of a button.

That approach is very Dyson: instead of adding one feature to an existing product, the company is redesigning the surrounding routine as well.

Could smart oral care become the next connected-health category?

The CameraJet arrives at an interesting time for personal technology.

Smartwatches already monitor activity, sleep and other health-related measurements. Smartphone apps can track nutrition and exercise. Now, oral care is becoming another area where sensors, cameras and software can provide users with feedback about everyday habits.

Dyson's approach is particularly notable because the technology is focused on technique and coverage, not simply adding another timer to a toothbrush.

That could make connected oral care more useful if consumers actually act on the information provided.

At the same time, more technology does not automatically mean better oral health. The value of a smart toothbrush ultimately depends on whether it helps people establish consistent habits and whether its claims hold up under independent evaluation.

When will Dyson CameraJet be available in the Philippines?

For Philippine consumers, there is still one important detail to watch.

The September 1 announcement states that the launch date for the Dyson Dental System in the Philippines is subject to market availability, with pricing still to be determined.

That means there is currently no Philippine price or confirmed local release date to report.

Consumers interested in the product can register their interest through Dyson Philippines and monitor the brand's official channels for local availability.

Dyson has already made the CameraJet available in other markets as part of its broader Dental System. Its official global announcement lists the CameraJet, charging dock, travel case, toothpaste and mouthrinse as the system's components.

For Philippine shoppers, the more practical question may eventually be whether the additional technology justifies the price compared with a conventional premium electric toothbrush and separate interdental-cleaning tools.

That answer will depend on the final local pricing, availability of consumables and, eventually, how independently tested performance compares with existing products.

Nexal Brings Work-and-Life Tech Together in New PH Lineup

Nexal Pad, Nexal Earbuds and Nexal OpenSports Pro launching in the Philippines

Technology no longer stays at the office. For people who work from home, commute between meetings, squeeze in workouts, or travel with their laptops, the same devices often follow them through very different parts of the day.

That is the idea behind Nexal Philippines' upcoming product reveal on September 17, when the brand will introduce three devices: the Nexal Pad, Nexal Earbuds, and Nexal OpenSports Pro. The launch is part of its “Work Freely, Live Fully” campaign, which positions technology around the different ways people work, move, and spend their time.

The livestream is scheduled for September 17, 2026, at 6 p.m., hosted by Steffi Lucero with Bianca Yao as special guest.

The announcement comes just months after Nexal entered the Philippine market with its smartwatch lineup. The brand describes itself as an urban outdoor technology company focused on devices for people who move between city life and outdoor activities.

What is Nexal launching in the Philippines?

The September reveal centers on three devices designed for different parts of a typical day.

The company has not yet disclosed the complete specifications, pricing, or availability details for these three products in the September 10 announcement. Those details are expected to form part of the September 17 reveal.

Nexal Pad: For work beyond the desk

The Nexal Pad is positioned as the productivity-focused device in the new lineup.

Rather than tying work to a traditional workstation, the tablet is intended for people who need to carry projects with them, whether they are working from home, moving between locations, or simply choosing a different place to get things done.

That positioning fits a broader shift in how digital work happens. Microsoft's ongoing Future of Work research has tracked the evolution from remote work to hybrid arrangements and, more recently, AI-supported collaboration.

For consumers, the appeal of a tablet is not necessarily replacing every laptop task. It can instead serve as a lighter second screen, a mobile work device, or an easier way to handle everyday digital tasks away from a desk.

Nexal Earbuds: When the screen is no longer needed

The Nexal Earbuds take a different role.

They are designed around moments when people are no longer working directly on a screen, including commuting, listening to music, taking calls, exercising, or winding down at the end of the day.

That makes earbuds one of the more natural pieces of technology for a lifestyle that moves between work and personal time. Unlike a laptop or tablet, they can remain useful when the user's attention shifts from productivity to entertainment or movement.

Nexal OpenSports Pro: Technology for active routines

The Nexal OpenSports Pro is aimed at the more active part of the day.

According to the announcement, the device is designed for running, workouts, and outdoor routines while allowing users to remain connected without feeling physically tethered to a desk.

The open-ear category is particularly relevant here because it approaches listening differently from conventional in-ear earbuds. Instead of sealing the ear canal, open-ear designs generally allow users to hear audio while remaining more aware of their surroundings.

That distinction can matter during outdoor activities, where environmental awareness is part of the experience.

Why is Nexal focusing on life beyond the workday?

The more interesting part of Nexal's September launch is not simply the number of devices. It is the lifestyle problem the lineup is trying to address.

Work and personal time are increasingly connected through technology. A phone can handle a work message during a commute, a tablet can become a mobile workstation, and wireless audio can move from a morning workout to an afternoon call and an evening playlist.

Microsoft's 2025 research on the changing workplace described work as increasingly extending beyond traditional working hours, while its 2026 Work Trend Index continues to examine how technology is changing the relationship between people, work, and digital tools.

That creates an interesting consumer question: Should technology help us work anywhere, or should it also make it easier to step away?

Nexal's “Work Freely, Live Fully” campaign appears to be addressing both sides.

The idea is not simply about making devices more portable. It is about having technology that can fit different moments without requiring consumers to change their routine around the device.

What should consumers watch for on September 17?

The September 17 livestream should provide the information that is still missing from the initial announcement.

Nexal's official website currently lists tablets, audio products, smartwatches, and other technology categories as part of its growing product portfolio.

The company first entered the Philippine market in May 2026, followed by the local launch of the Nexal Watch and Nexal Watch Sport. Local reports positioned the brand around everyday movement, wellness, productivity, and outdoor activities.

The new lineup therefore represents a logical expansion of that positioning, moving beyond watches into devices people can use across work, entertainment, exercise, and travel.

When and where can you watch the Nexal launch?

The Nexal “Work Freely, Live Fully” launch takes place on:

Date: September 17, 2026
Time: 6 p.m. Philippine time
Format: Livestream
Host: Steffi Lucero
Special guest: Bianca Yao

The livestream will be available through Nexal's official Facebook and TikTok channels.

For product information and future updates, consumers can also check Nexal's official website.

For now, Nexal is keeping the details of its September lineup relatively close to the vest. The September 17 reveal should answer the practical questions consumers will have before deciding whether these devices belong in their everyday tech setup.

The regular suggested retail price is Php 59,999.

Why the HONOR 600 Pro MOLLY Edition stands out

The appeal of the MOLLY Edition goes beyond simply putting a character on an existing smartphone.

The device gets a special-edition treatment designed for fans who want something more expressive than a conventional handset. It measures 7.8mm thick and weighs 200 grams, with a cold-carved unibody construction, translucent Composite Fiber back panel and matte metal frame.

It also features a 0.98mm narrow black bezel, giving the phone a sleek look despite its collectible-inspired personality.

For MOLLY fans, that combination could make the smartphone particularly interesting because it functions as an everyday device while also carrying the appeal of a limited-edition collectible.

What can you expect from the camera?

Photography is one of the major features of the HONOR 600 Pro.

The phone comes with a 200MP Ultra-Clear Night Camera using a 1/1.4-inch sensor and CIPA 6.0 optical image stabilization. It is paired with a 50MP 3.5X Periscope Telephoto Camera with up to 120x zoom and CIPA 6.5 OIS.

For people who regularly create content on their phones, HONOR also highlights its AI Image to Video 2.0 feature. It can turn still images into video content using AI, offering another way to repurpose photos for social media and other creative projects.

That makes the phone more than a style-focused collaboration. Its camera system is aimed at users who want a capable everyday camera for photos and video creation.

A large battery for everyday use

The HONOR 600 Pro is equipped with a 7,000mAh battery, which should appeal to users who spend long hours on their phones for social media, streaming, photography, gaming and work.

Charging support includes 80W wired HONOR SuperCharge and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge.

The phone also has a 6.57-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness is rated at up to 8,000 nits, giving the display plenty of headroom for viewing content in bright conditions.

The MOLLY Edition arrives exclusively on Lazada

For Philippine buyers, the biggest practical detail is where the phone can be purchased.

The HONOR 600 Pro MOLLY Edition is available exclusively on Lazada Philippines, coinciding with the platform's 9.9 campaign.

The phone has an SRP of Php 59,999, but eligible buyers can bring the checkout price down to as low as Php 49,999 through the announced discounts:

  • Php 1,500 HONOR discount
  • Php 3,000 Lazada platform voucher
  • Additional Php 5,500 voucher for eligible UnionBank credit card users

Payment options also include LazPay, Lazada PayLater and credit card installments, subject to the applicable campaign terms and conditions.

When collectible culture meets everyday tech

Character collaborations have become an increasingly visible part of consumer culture, particularly among fans who see everyday products as extensions of their personal interests.

The HONOR 600 Pro MOLLY Edition fits into that space by combining a functional smartphone with the visual appeal of a Pop Mart collaboration.

For MOLLY collectors, the attraction may be the limited-edition identity. For content creators and everyday smartphone users, the camera system, large battery, fast charging and high-refresh-rate display provide the practical reasons to consider it.

That combination is what makes special-edition technology interesting. The product still needs to work well as an everyday device, but its design gives owners another reason to make it part of their personal style.

With the Philippine launch, HONOR is giving both smartphone users and MOLLY fans a chance to carry that crossover into their everyday routines.

The HONOR 600 Pro MOLLY Edition is now available exclusively on Lazada Philippines for as low as Php 49,999, subject to applicable discounts and campaign terms.

Bangkok Travel Gets Easier for Filipino Travelers

Bangkok skyline and city attractions for Filipino travelers planning a short Thailand getaway

A quick international escape does not always require a long itinerary. Bangkok travel continues to appeal to Filipinos because Thailand’s capital packs food, culture, shopping, history, and nightlife into one highly accessible city.

That appeal is getting an extra push this September as Philippine Airlines (PAL), in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), offers up to 20% off base fares to Bangkok. The booking period runs from September 7 to 13, 2026, while travel begins September 13 onward.

For travelers who have only a few days to spare, Bangkok makes a particularly practical choice. PAL’s published 2026 international schedule includes several daily Manila-Bangkok flights, giving travelers different departure times to work around their plans.

Why is Bangkok a good destination for a short trip?

Bangkok works for short getaways because travelers can experience several sides of Thailand without constantly moving between destinations.

A first-time visitor can spend a morning visiting a historic temple, have lunch at a local market, browse shops in the afternoon, then end the day exploring Bangkok's lively food and entertainment scene.

The city's variety is one of its biggest advantages. The Tourism Authority of Thailand lists historic temples such as Wat Pho and Wat Phra Kaew alongside markets, museums, parks, shopping centers and neighborhoods such as Yaowarat.

That means a three- or four-day itinerary does not have to feel repetitive. Bangkok can be as relaxed or as packed as a traveler wants it to be.

What can you do in Bangkok in a few days?

For a first visit, consider building an itinerary around a few different experiences rather than trying to see everything.Explore Thai culture: Visit historic temples and religious sites, while allowing time to appreciate their architecture and history.

Eat your way around the city: Try Thai specialties at restaurants, markets and neighborhood food spots.

Shop: Mix major shopping centers with traditional markets for a broader Bangkok experience.

Explore neighborhoods: Areas such as Yaowarat offer a different atmosphere from the city's major commercial districts.

Look for local events: Thailand's tourism calendar includes cultural celebrations and other events throughout the year.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand currently highlights food, temples, palaces, festivals and other cultural experiences as part of its Bangkok and Thailand offerings.

Bangkok is more than a shopping trip

For many Filipino travelers, Bangkok is already familiar as a shopping and food destination. But focusing only on those two things can mean missing what makes the city distinctive.

Its temples and historic sites offer a glimpse into Thailand's religious and architectural traditions. Meanwhile, neighborhoods such as Yaowarat and markets such as Chatuchak show another side of city life.

The contrast is part of the fun. A day can move from a quiet cultural site to a crowded food market and then to a modern shopping district without leaving Bangkok.

This variety also makes the city suitable for different kinds of travelers. Friends can build a food-and-shopping weekend, couples can mix cultural stops with restaurants and nightlife, while solo travelers can explore neighborhoods at their own pace.

What does the PAL Bangkok offer include?

The current Philippine Airlines promotion offers up to 20% off base fares to Bangkok, according to PAL's Thailand flight page. The promotion's booking period is September 7 to 13, 2026, with travel beginning September 13.

Travelers should check the fare conditions and final price before booking because promotional fares can have specific terms, availability limits and applicable taxes or charges.

PAL's published international schedule also shows multiple daily Manila-Bangkok services during its March 29 to October 24, 2026 summer timetable.

For travelers planning a short vacation, having several departure options can make it easier to maximize time in the destination.

A short Bangkok trip can still feel complete

One of the advantages of a city break is that travelers do not have to wait for a long holiday to experience somewhere different.

Bangkok offers enough variety to fill a few days while leaving room for spontaneous discoveries. A traveler can plan the major stops but still leave an afternoon open for a neighborhood restaurant, market or café that happens to catch their attention.

And for Filipinos looking for a relatively straightforward international escape, the combination of frequent flight options and a destination with plenty to do makes Bangkok worth considering.

The current PAL promotion gives travelers another reason to look at their calendars. Just remember that the fare discount is temporary, while the city itself offers plenty of reasons to return.

Promotion details:

Booking period: September 7–13, 2026
Travel period: September 13, 2026 onward
Offer: Up to 20% off base fares to Bangkok, subject to applicable terms and availability.

UNIQLO U Fall/Winter 2026 Marks a Decade of Everyday Style

Thursday, September 03, 2026

UNIQLO U Fall/Winter 2026 collection featuring structured and functional everyday fashion

Ten years after its debut, UNIQLO U 2026 Fall/Winter closes an important chapter in the evolution of the Japanese retailer's LifeWear philosophy.

Launching September 11, the collection marks the 10th anniversary of UNIQLO U and the final collection created under the creative direction of Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran.

Since 2016, UNIQLO U has explored what the brand calls “Future LifeWear,” bringing together thoughtful silhouettes, functional materials and understated design for everyday dressing. This final chapter continues that approach, with a noticeable emphasis on the relationship between form, fabric and color.

For fashion fans who have followed the line over the years, the collection is more than another seasonal drop. It represents the end of a creative chapter that helped shape how minimalist, functional fashion could look in a mainstream wardrobe.

What makes UNIQLO U Fall/Winter 2026 different?

The collection centers on a balance between softness and structure, with pieces designed to have a defined shape without sacrificing everyday comfort.

The women's lineup includes 14 items, while the men's collection has 17 items. There are also two accessories. Despite the categories, UNIQLO says most of the collection is designed to be genderless.

That makes the pieces relatively easy to think about beyond traditional seasonal or gender-specific wardrobes.

Women's collection: Softness meets structure

For women, the collection plays with contrasting qualities.

The Satin Combination Dress, for example, combines a soft material with a more structured silhouette. Meanwhile, the Hybrid Down Short Jacket uses a compact shape, while the Coated Blouson gives more definition to the shoulders.

The common thread is movement. Rather than relying on elaborate detailing, the designs use proportion and silhouette to create visual interest.

For everyday dressing, that approach can make a difference. A structured jacket can instantly give a simple outfit more shape, while a softer dress can work across different settings depending on how it is styled.

Men's collection: Function with personality

The men's collection takes a similar approach but puts greater emphasis on utility and individual expression.

The Wool Blend Short Coat incorporates workwear-inspired details while offering warmth for colder weather. The Fishtail Parka also gets a contemporary reinterpretation, keeping its functional character while giving it a more modern appearance.

A bright red accent appears in the collection as a way to introduce stronger color into an otherwise restrained palette.

That small injection of color is particularly interesting for anyone whose wardrobe tends to revolve around neutrals. A red outer layer or accessory can become the focal point of an otherwise simple outfit.

A decade of Christophe Lemaire and UNIQLO U

UNIQLO U began in 2016 under Christophe Lemaire's leadership at UNIQLO's Paris R&D Center.

Over the following decade, the collaboration developed a distinct design language around everyday clothing. Rather than treating basics as purely utilitarian pieces, UNIQLO U explored how details such as proportions, materials and color could give familiar wardrobe staples a more considered look.

Lemaire described the decade as one of the highlights of his design career, while UNIQLO parent company Fast Retailing Chairman, President and CEO Tadashi Yanai credited his creativity and aesthetic sense with elevating UNIQLO U's concept of “Future LifeWear.”

The Fall/Winter 2026 collection therefore carries some significance for longtime followers of the line.

It is the final UNIQLO U collection from Lemaire and Tran, although UNIQLO says the principles of careful tailoring and timeless design will continue into the next chapter.

Why the 10th anniversary matters to everyday fashion

The appeal of UNIQLO U has always been closely connected to a simple idea: everyday clothing does not have to look ordinary.

A coat, shirt, dress or jacket can remain practical while still having a strong point of view. Small changes in proportion, texture or color can completely alter how a familiar wardrobe staple feels.

That is particularly relevant today as more consumers build wardrobes around versatile pieces rather than buying something for only one occasion.

The idea also fits naturally with the broader LifeWear philosophy, which focuses on clothing designed for everyday life.

For shoppers, this means the most interesting pieces in the collection may not necessarily be the ones that make the biggest statement. They could be the items that quietly become wardrobe workhorses.

What to look for when the collection arrives

If you're planning to check out UNIQLO U Fall/Winter 2026, consider looking beyond the initial excitement of a new collection.

Start with the pieces that fit your existing wardrobe. A well-cut jacket or coat can have more long-term value than a trend-driven item that only works with one outfit.

Pay attention to silhouette. The collection's structured shapes can change the appearance of simple basics without requiring complicated styling.

Consider color strategically. If most of your wardrobe is neutral, one of the collection's brighter accents can add personality without requiring a complete style overhaul.

Think beyond the women's and men's labels. Since most of the collection is designed to be genderless, there is room to explore pieces based on fit, proportion and personal style rather than category alone.

UNIQLO U Fall/Winter 2026 collection details

The new collection launches September 11, 2026.

The collection is the final UNIQLO U chapter under Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran, bringing the collaboration's first decade to a close.

For those who have appreciated UNIQLO U's understated approach to everyday fashion, this season offers a chance to revisit what made the line distinctive in the first place: thoughtful design that works in real life.

The next chapter of LifeWear

The end of Lemaire and Tran's first decade with UNIQLO U does not mean the end of the design philosophy behind the collection.

If anything, Fall/Winter 2026 serves as a reminder of how much impact can come from refining everyday clothing rather than constantly reinventing it.

As UNIQLO U moves into its next chapter, the challenge will be maintaining that balance between function, individuality and timeless design.

And for shoppers, that may be the most useful takeaway of all. The pieces that stay relevant are often the ones that make getting dressed a little easier, while still feeling distinctly your own.

Sanya Lopez Makes Live-Selling Debut for nubia 9.9

Sanya Lopez joins nubia Philippines for the NEOverse 9.9 MAXXING live-selling event

For many Filipinos, 9.9 is no longer just another date on the shopping calendar. It has become a chance to hunt for discounts, vouchers, freebies and upgrades without leaving home.

This year, actress Sanya Lopez is joining that experience in a new role. Lopez will make her first live-selling appearance as nubia Philippines' Maxxing Queen during the NEOverse 9.9 MAXXING Live Fest on September 8 at 7 p.m.

The live event will run on nubia Philippines' official TikTok and Shopee channels, with featured devices, limited-time offers, vouchers, freebies and other promotions planned for viewers.

What can shoppers expect from nubia's 9.9 sale?

The NEOverse 9.9 MAXXING campaign combines a familiar 9.9 shopping format with live entertainment.

Instead of simply browsing product pages, shoppers watching the live event can see Lopez interact with the brand, learn more about selected devices and look out for offers available specifically during the livestream.

The broader campaign will also run through nubia Philippines' official TikTok Shop, Shopee and Lazada channels.

Among the announced promotions are:
  • Limited-time discounts and vouchers
  • Freebies on selected devices
  • Special rewards during the campaign
  • Live-only deals and offers
  • A "Buy 1, Get Up to 4 Freebies" offer on selected products
  • Selected nubia Neo 5 Series deals
  • A limited ₱99 offer on Shopee for selected devices, while promotional stocks last

Freebies may include a phone cooler, mini fan, charging cable and Viu Philippines Premium Subscription, depending on the product and applicable promotion.

Because these are promotional offers, shoppers should check the specific product listing and campaign mechanics before purchasing. Availability and stocks may also vary.

Why is Sanya Lopez's live-selling debut worth watching?

Lopez's appearance adds a celebrity element to a shopping format that has become increasingly interactive.

Live commerce essentially combines online shopping with livestream video. Instead of simply reading a product description, viewers can watch demonstrations, hear explanations and respond to the host in real time.

For brands, the format provides another way to introduce products. For shoppers, it can make the process of discovering a device feel closer to a product presentation than a traditional online store visit.

That makes Lopez's first live-selling appearance particularly interesting. Her role isn't simply to appear in a campaign. She will participate in the livestream itself, interact with viewers and showcase selected nubia products.

For fans, it also offers a chance to see a different side of the actress outside her usual television and entertainment work.

Which nubia devices are part of the 9.9 campaign?

The nubia Neo 5 Series takes center stage in the campaign, particularly for consumers looking at smartphones designed around gaming, entertainment and everyday use.

The nubia Neo 5 Max PadPhone is aimed at users who prefer a larger screen. According to the campaign details, it features a 7.5-inch 1.5K display and a 7,100mAh battery.

The larger screen could appeal to people who regularly watch videos, play mobile games or use their phone for extended periods.

Meanwhile, the nubia Neo 5 GT Special Edition targets performance-focused users. It features nubia's AquaCore Cooling System, which combines liquid and air active cooling to help manage heat during demanding use.

These features point to a broader trend in smartphones: consumers are increasingly looking beyond cameras and basic communication when choosing a device. Screen size, battery capacity, gaming performance and thermal management can all influence the everyday experience.

How does live shopping change the 9.9 experience?

The rise of livestream shopping reflects how online shopping has evolved from simply browsing digital catalogs.

The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry defines e-commerce as the buying or selling of goods or services through computer networks. Online merchants can sell through websites, marketplaces and social media platforms.

That distinction matters because platforms such as TikTok have blurred the line between entertainment and shopping.

A consumer may start watching a video for entertainment, discover a product during a livestream and complete the purchase without leaving the platform.

For shoppers, however, convenience should not replace careful checking. The DTI advises consumers to buy from verified sellers, review feedback, understand return and refund policies, and use secure payment methods.

The Philippines also has the Internet Transactions Act of 2023, which establishes protections for consumers and merchants involved in online transactions.

A quick checklist before buying during a livestream

If you're planning to shop during 9.9, it helps to do a little homework before the livestream starts:
  • Know the regular price. This makes it easier to determine whether a discount is worthwhile.
  • Check the exact product model. Similar-looking smartphones can have different specifications and prices.
  • Read the promotion mechanics. Some freebies and vouchers apply only to selected products.
  • Check stock availability. Limited-time offers may sell out quickly.
  • Review shipping and return policies. A low price is less useful if the purchase terms don't work for you.
  • Use official stores. This reduces the risk of purchasing from an unauthorized seller.

The DTI also reminds consumers of their right to information, including accurate details about products and promotions.

When is Sanya Lopez's nubia live-selling event?

The NEOverse 9.9 MAXXING Live Fest featuring Sanya Lopez is scheduled for September 8, 2026, at 7 p.m.

The livestream will be available through nubia Philippines' official TikTok and Shopee channels.

For shoppers considering a phone upgrade, the livestream could be a convenient way to compare selected devices while keeping an eye on the 9.9 promotions.

And for Lopez's fans, it marks a first: seeing the actress step from traditional entertainment into the increasingly social world of live commerce.

Sometimes, maxing out 9.9 isn't only about finding the lowest price. It's about finding a deal that actually fits the way you live, work, play and shop.

How Connectivity Is Powering Davao’s Next Generation of Digital Creators

Tuesday, September 01, 2026

For Davao’s young gamers, creators, and digital storytellers, having access to reliable connectivity can mean more than simply being online. It can open doors to communities, competitions, creative platforms, and opportunities that extend far beyond their hometown.

That potential was at the center of Converge ICT Solutions Inc.’s launch of the second season of its FiberX Student League Ambassadors Program, held in Davao City on August 14.

The initiative brought Converge’s youth-focused activities directly to Mindanao, highlighting how technology and connectivity can help young Filipinos develop their skills and find opportunities in the growing digital economy.

Bringing digital opportunities closer to students

The Davao launch was held at The Velvet Suites and Hotel, where students took part in gaming activities, competitions, and interactive experiences designed around the digital interests of today’s youth.

A key part of the event was the LimitlessXPRESS, Converge’s mobile platform designed to bring gaming and digital experiences closer to students in different communities.

The Davao event also demonstrated how connectivity can bridge physical distances. At the same time that the Mindanao launch was taking place, another LimitlessXPRESS truck was stationed at the University of Cebu Banilad in Cebu.

Gaming personality Cherizawa hosted a live broadcast from Cebu, connecting with the Davao audience in real time through Converge’s fiber network.

The simultaneous activities in Cebu and Davao offered a practical demonstration of how reliable connectivity can allow people in different locations to participate in the same experience.

“Having our trucks in Cebu and Davao at the same time shows what our network can really do. It proves that Converge is going the extra mile to meet and support the youth exactly where they are,” said JP Aguilar, SVP and Consumer Business Group Head of Converge.

From gaming to digital creation

The LimitlessXPRESS is designed not only as a mobile gaming venue but also as a platform where students can explore different forms of digital content.

The truck includes a gaming area for one-on-one competitions, as well as a broadcast setup for live audio sessions and podcasting.

That combination reflects the changing ways young people interact with technology. Gaming, livestreaming, podcasting, content creation, and social media increasingly overlap, giving young Filipinos multiple avenues to develop skills and build audiences.

For students outside major technology hubs, bringing these experiences directly to schools and communities can also help reduce some of the barriers to participation.

The Davao activation gave students an opportunity to experience these tools firsthand rather than simply engaging with them online.

Creating opportunities beyond the screen

The event also included competitions, giveaways, and gaming activities, with students competing for gadgets, gift vouchers, and a PlayStation 5.

Converge executives also joined the gaming activities, reinforcing the company's effort to create a less formal and more accessible interaction between its leadership, students, and its wider community.

Orange Ramirez, VP and Brand & Marketing Head of Converge, said the company wanted to bring opportunities directly to students through the mobile arena.

“As you can see, we are trying to break down the barriers for our community,” Ramirez said. “Here in Davao, we are not just launching our campaign. We are bringing a mobile arena directly to the students with our LimitlessXPRESS truck, so they don’t have to go far to find support and opportunities.”

The approach points to a broader role for connectivity in the development of the country's digital workforce. Access to a fast and dependable network can support not only entertainment but also learning, collaboration, content creation, and participation in digital communities.

Why connectivity matters to the next generation

Davao has become an important center for economic activity in Mindanao, but its young population also represents a growing pool of potential digital creators, entrepreneurs, and technology professionals.

For this generation, connectivity is increasingly part of the infrastructure that supports opportunity.

A student interested in competitive gaming may eventually explore streaming. A budding creator may develop skills in video production, podcasting, or digital marketing. Someone who starts by participating in an online community may eventually discover educational or professional opportunities through the same network.

Programs that bring technology directly to schools and communities can therefore serve a purpose beyond brand engagement. They can expose young people to possibilities that may not otherwise be readily accessible to them.

Converge's Student League Ambassadors Program Season 2 is part of that effort, bringing its activities closer to students in different parts of the country.

As the LimitlessXPRESS continues to travel to schools and communities, the bigger opportunity may be what happens after the event: giving young Filipinos the connectivity and exposure they need to turn digital interests into real-world skills and opportunities.

Impy Pilapil’s Flight Finds New Home in Singapore Embassy

Monday, August 31, 2026

A sculpture created by Filipino artist Impy Pilapil to evoke the experience of flying with Singapore Airlines has begun a new chapter, this time inside the Singapore Embassy in Manila.

Titled Flight, the original sculpture was commissioned by Singapore Airlines in 2015 and displayed for nearly a decade at the airline's SilverKris Lounge at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. Singapore Airlines has now gifted the artwork to the Embassy as part of its celebration of 60 years of operations in the Philippines.

The move also brings Flight together with three other Pilapil sculptures already housed at the Embassy, creating an unexpected reunion of the artist's work.

Why was Flight moved from the airport to the Singapore Embassy?

For years, Flight formed part of the experience for passengers passing through Singapore Airlines' SilverKris Lounge.

Pilapil created the work specifically to reflect the experience of flying with SIA. Its original setting was fitting: an airport lounge is a place associated with movement, departure, arrival and the anticipation of travel.

After around a decade at the lounge, Singapore Airlines decided that the sculpture deserved a new setting.

The Singapore Embassy offered a particularly meaningful destination because three other works by Pilapil were already part of its collection.

The turnover ceremony at the Embassy in Bonifacio Global City brought together Pilapil, Singapore Ambassador to the Philippines Constance See and Singapore Airlines Philippines General Manager Liwei Tai.

Rather than simply moving an artwork from one building to another, the occasion effectively reunited four pieces by a Filipino artist whose work has long been connected with Singapore.

How did Impy Pilapil’s Flight begin?

Singapore Airlines commissioned Flight in 2015 as an original artwork inspired by the experience of traveling with the airline.

At the time, the sculpture was installed at the SilverKris Lounge in Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, where it became a familiar visual element for passengers preparing to fly.

Its new location changes the context.

At an airport, Flight was encountered by travelers in transit. At the Singapore Embassy, it becomes part of a broader cultural setting, alongside other works by Pilapil and within a diplomatic space.

That shift gives the sculpture a different meaning without changing the artwork itself.

Why are there already three Impy Pilapil sculptures at the Embassy?

The Singapore Embassy's connection with Pilapil goes back years.

When the Embassy's Manila building opened in 2008, three of the artist's sculptures were installed there. The addition of Flight means that four of her original works are now together at the Embassy.

For Pilapil, seeing the pieces reunited has personal significance.

She described the four works as creating a more cohesive artistic dialogue, with themes of movement, connection and crossing physical boundaries reflected in the new arrangement.

The artist also expressed her affection for Singapore and happiness that her work would remain in a place connected with the country she has long admired.

What makes Impy Pilapil’s art distinctive?

Filipino artist Impy Pilapil with her Flight sculpture at the Singapore Embassy in Manila

Pilapil is known for working across a range of materials, including stone, glass, steel, wood and paper.

Her work explores ideas such as nature, harmony, tranquillity and community. Her sculptures and other works have been exhibited in the Philippines and internationally, including in Singapore, Japan, Australia, Italy and the United States.

That range of materials and settings makes her work particularly suited to spaces where art can serve as more than decoration.

In the case of Flight, the artwork was created for an environment centered on travel. Its new home places it within a setting where art can also represent cultural relationships.

How does art reflect Philippine-Singapore relations?

The story behind Flight is also part of a larger relationship between the two countries.

Singapore Airlines' six decades of operations in the Philippines have connected travelers, businesses and communities between the two countries. The airline's anniversary therefore provides a natural opportunity to look beyond aviation and at the cultural relationships that have developed alongside it.

For Singapore Ambassador Constance See, the presence of Filipino artworks at the Embassy reflects that cultural connection.

The Embassy's decision to continue displaying Pilapil's work also highlights the role Filipino artists can play in representing the Philippines in international spaces.

Art can communicate aspects of a country's identity in ways that official meetings and diplomatic documents cannot always capture.

A new chapter for a familiar artwork

There is something fitting about Flight moving from an airport to an embassy.

The sculpture was originally created around the idea of travel and movement. Its new home places it in a setting associated with relationships between countries and people.

That makes its journey more than a change of location.

For Singapore Airlines, the gift marks 60 years of serving the Philippines. For the Singapore Embassy, it adds another Filipino artwork to a collection already connected to the artist. And for Pilapil, it brings four of her sculptures together under one roof.

After spending years welcoming travelers at an airport, Flight now has a different role: quietly representing movement, connection and the creative ties between Singapore and the Philippines.

The Art of Travel

Airports have long been places where art and design intersect with the travel experience. From sculptures in terminals to commissioned installations in lounges, artworks can give otherwise functional spaces a sense of identity and place.

Flight offers a particularly personal example. Its original audience encountered the work while preparing to leave the Philippines. Its new audience encounters it within an Embassy representing another country.

In both settings, the central idea remains the same: art can help make connections that extend beyond physical borders.

What’s Really in Your Pet’s Bowl? Why the Ingredient List Is Just the Start

Pet food bowl and ingredients representing transparency in pet nutrition

When choosing food for a dog or cat, it is tempting to focus on the first few words on the package. “Natural,” “premium,” “grain-free” and other claims can quickly catch a pet parent’s attention.

But there is more to understanding pet food than reading the front of the bag.

Pet food transparency means knowing not only what ingredients are used, but also how to evaluate the food’s nutritional adequacy, sourcing information, feeding guidance and other claims.

That distinction matters as pet parents become more interested in the quality and story behind the food they buy.

ADM’s 2025 Global Pet Nutrition Insights Report points to continued interest in healthier, high-quality and sustainably sourced pet products, reflecting how closely pet care choices increasingly mirror the way people think about their own food.

For pet parents, however, the goal should not be to choose the package with the longest list of appealing claims. It should be to understand what those claims actually tell you about the food.

What should you look for on a pet food label?

An ingredient list is a useful starting point, but it does not tell the entire nutritional story.

According to the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), ingredients on pet food labels are generally listed in descending order by weight. That means the first ingredient weighs more than the ingredients listed after it. However, the ingredient list does not tell you the exact percentage of each ingredient.

There is another part of the package that deserves equal attention: the nutritional adequacy statement.

AAFCO explains that a food described as “complete and balanced” is intended to provide the required nutrients in appropriate proportions for the specified life stage. Life stages can include growth, adult maintenance, reproduction or all life stages.

In other words, a recognizable ingredient name alone does not determine whether a food is nutritionally appropriate.

A simple pet food label checklist

When comparing products, pet parents can look at:

Intended animal and life stage
Check whether the food is formulated for your pet's species and stage of life.

Nutritional adequacy statement
Look for information indicating whether the food is complete and balanced or intended only for intermittent or supplemental feeding.

Ingredient list
Ingredients are listed by weight, from highest to lowest.

Guaranteed analysis
Review the listed nutrient guarantees rather than relying only on front-of-pack claims.

Feeding directions
These provide a starting point for determining how much food to give your pet.

Specific claims

Consider what claims such as “natural,” “grain-free” or “premium” actually mean and whether they are relevant to your pet's needs.

For pets with allergies, medical conditions or specific nutritional requirements, a veterinarian can help determine which formulation is appropriate.

Why does ingredient sourcing matter?

For some pet parents, transparency extends beyond the ingredient name.

They want to know where an ingredient comes from, how it was produced and what standards were applied before it became part of the finished product.

That is where traceability becomes useful.

Traceability refers to the ability to track an ingredient through parts of the supply chain. In practical terms, it can give consumers more information about the origin of ingredients rather than leaving them with only a name printed on a package.

Open Farm has built this type of information into its approach to pet food.

The brand, whose products are available through Bow & Wow in the Philippines, emphasizes ingredient sourcing, animal welfare and sustainability alongside nutrition. Its recipes include animal proteins and plant ingredients, while its sourcing standards cover areas such as pasture-raised lamb, crate-free pork, pasture-raised beef and wild-caught fish, according to the supplied brand information.

Open Farm also offers a transparency platform where customers can enter the lot code found on the packaging to access sourcing information associated with a particular batch.

That gives pet parents something more concrete to investigate than a general statement printed on the front of a bag.

Does a longer ingredient list mean better pet food?

Not necessarily.

A common mistake is to judge pet food solely by whether the ingredients sound familiar or appealing.

Pet food is formulated to deliver nutrients, and some ingredients that sound unfamiliar may provide vitamins, minerals or other necessary nutrients. AAFCO notes that ingredients serve different nutritional functions, and that a complete and balanced formulation accounts for the varying nutrient contributions of individual ingredients.

The same caution applies to judging a food based solely on its first ingredient.

The first ingredient is important because ingredients are listed by weight, but it does not by itself tell you whether the overall food is nutritionally complete.

The better question is not “Does this ingredient list look good?” but “Does this food meet my pet’s nutritional needs?”

Why “complete and balanced” deserves attention

The phrase “complete and balanced” has a specific nutritional meaning in pet food labeling.

AAFCO explains that “complete” means the food contains all required nutrients, while “balanced” means those nutrients are present in the correct ratios. Nutritional needs also differ according to life stage.

That is why a food formulated for a growing puppy or kitten should not automatically be assumed to be appropriate for an adult pet.

The FDA likewise advises consumers to look for the nutritional adequacy statement when determining whether a pet food is intended to meet a pet's nutritional needs as a sole diet.

This is one of the most useful pieces of information on a pet food package, yet it can be easy to overlook when marketing claims dominate the front label.

What does “transparency” look like in practice?

For pet parents, meaningful transparency can involve several layers.

Ingredient transparency means clearly identifying what goes into the food.

Sourcing transparency provides information about where ingredients originate.

Production transparency can offer insight into how ingredients are handled and turned into the finished product.

Nutritional transparency helps consumers understand what the food is formulated to provide.

And claim transparency means giving consumers enough information to understand what statements on the packaging actually mean.

This broader approach is becoming more relevant as pet parents spend more time researching what they feed their companions.

ADM's 2025 pet nutrition research notes continued consumer interest in healthier, wholesome and sustainably sourced pet products, although preferences vary across markets and demographic groups.

Where does Open Farm fit into the conversation?

Open Farm was founded by Jacqueline Prehogan and Isaac Langleben after their experience rescuing pugs led them to look for pet food that aligned with their expectations around nutrition, animal welfare and sustainability.

The brand has since made those principles part of its product positioning.

In the Philippines, Open Farm products are available through Bow & Wow, which also positions transparency and pet-care guidance as part of its approach to helping customers choose food.

Bow & Wow's Pet Care Advisors can help pet parents consider factors such as formulation, ingredients and individual pet needs rather than simply selecting a product based on price or packaging claims.

That distinction is important because there is no single pet food that is automatically right for every dog or cat.

Age, size, activity level, health status and individual sensitivities can all affect what a pet needs.

Should pet parents choose food based on sustainability?

Sustainability can be a meaningful consideration, particularly for consumers who want their purchasing decisions to reflect their values.

However, it should be considered alongside nutrition rather than treated as a substitute for it.

Responsible sourcing, animal welfare and environmental practices tell part of the story behind a product. Nutritional adequacy tells another.

For pet parents, the most useful approach is to consider both.

A food can have an appealing sustainability story, but it still needs to be appropriate for the animal consuming it.
