Amotti Headlines AIA Philippines Rethink Healthy Summit, Inspires Braver and Healthier Living

Saturday, March 28, 2026

Health and wellness took center stage as AIA Philippines gathered over 200 creators, experts, and advocates for its first-ever Rethink Healthy Influencer Summit in Manila.

More than just a typical industry event, the summit sparked meaningful conversations about shifting everyday habits and embracing a more proactive approach to health. It was a strong reminder that living well does not require drastic changes, just small, intentional steps.

From “Bahala Na” to “Handa Na”: A Shift in Filipino Mindset

The summit builds on AIA Philippines’ recent study, Rethink Healthy: Shaping Filipino Health-Seeking Choices, which highlights a growing shift in how Filipinos view their well-being.

Instead of relying on a passive “bahala na” mindset, more people are adopting a “handa na” approach. This means being more intentional about health decisions, often driven by a deep sense of responsibility toward family.

As AIA Philippines Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Henson shared, the goal is to help people turn awareness into action by making healthy choices feel more achievable in everyday life.

Breaking the “Tiis Muna” Habit in Healthcare

One of the most relatable discussions during the summit focused on healthcare behavior. Julian Mengual of MediCard pointed out how many Filipinos tend to delay checkups until symptoms become serious.

He explained that this is not necessarily due to neglect, but often because navigating healthcare systems can feel overwhelming. The familiar “tiis muna” mindset leads to postponed care, which can result in more complex health issues later on.

AIA Life Planner Grace Quinto echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that early care and proper financial planning can ease long-term burdens and provide peace of mind for families.

Mental Wellness: Beyond the Highlight Reel

The conversation also tackled mental health through a candid panel featuring Wil Dasovich, Cat Triviño, and psychologist Dr. Francine Bofill.

Dasovich shared how vulnerability online has allowed him to connect more deeply with audiences, proving that authenticity resonates more than perfection. Triviño added that high-functioning individuals often struggle silently, making it even more important to normalize seeking help early.

Dr. Bofill reinforced that awareness is just the beginning. Recognizing emotions and actively asking for support are crucial steps toward better mental health.

Redefining Influence Through Authenticity

In another standout session, Solenn Heussaff, Nico Bolzico, and Charissa Kow explored how digital platforms shape behavior and self-image.

Heussaff emphasized the importance of honesty in content creation, noting that real connections come from being genuine. Bolzico challenged the idea of perfection online, reminding audiences that authenticity is far more relatable.

Kow highlighted how platforms like TikTok are working to create spaces that encourage self-expression while promoting responsible content creation.

Strength Through Consistency, Not Extremes

The summit concluded with a powerful session featuring Amotti, known for winning Physical: 100. He shared a grounded perspective on fitness, emphasizing that health is built through consistent routines rather than extreme efforts.

According to him, simple habits like maintaining a daily rhythm for sleep, meals, and exercise can make a lasting impact over time.

Turning Small Steps Into Lasting Change

At its core, the Rethink Healthy Influencer Summit is about making wellness feel achievable. It encourages people to move beyond intention and take action, even in small ways.

Through initiatives like this and its AIA Voices platform, AIA Philippines continues to empower Filipinos to take control of their health journey.

If there is one takeaway from the summit, it is this: living a healthier life does not happen overnight. It starts with one brave choice at a time.
