One Sunday morning, I told my hubby that I have no plan of cooking breakfast so he better dress up because we're heading somewhere to eat. He has no idea where. As for me, I have planned this the night before.
Rustic Mornings by Isabelo is tucked a few meters from the busy street of JP Rizal near the Our Lady of the Abandoned Church in Marikina. We arrived past 9 in the morning and most of the table outside were already occupied.
My eyes were having a feast. The decors were charming. A collection of vintage mementos artistically adorned the restaurant.
The attendant offered us to dine indoor. He was a bit apologetic that he could no longer provide us a table outdoor. It seems people who dine here prefer the outdoor but I don't mind. There'll be a next time.
Rustic Morning's indoor dining area has it's own charm. I actually prefer this because it feels like home.
We started our breakfast with a cup of coffee. Hubby ordered Americano. He is a coffee drinker and this one's a perfect choice. PhP65 with one free refill.
I don't usually drink coffee for breakfast. But whenever I feel like having coffee, I go for cappuccino. PhP75 a cup.
Hubby's breakfast of choice was Meat Lovers 3-Egg Cheese Omelette. This hefty serving of onion, garlic, sausage and bacon with 2 slices of ciabatta bread, herbed butter and fruit jam costs PhP190.
I'm a lover of Filipino breakfast. It's either Beef Tapa or Boneless Bangus. This time I chose Beef Tapa. Served with 2 free-range eggs, garlic parslied rice, tomato wansoy salad, red wine vinaigrette with red onions, Rustic Morning's Beef Tapa is one of the best I've tasted. For PhP235, I had the most satisfying Sunday breakfast. (And I ordered an extra serving of garlic rice.)
Good food, appetite-enticing ambience, friendly and attentive attendants and good value for money. Rustic Mornings by Isabelo is a gem in Marikina worth finding.
"All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast."
