Making smart money decisions is a skill every person should possess and should start even at a young age. Sadly, only 2% of the Philippine population are financially literate. In a 2012 Financial Literacy Study conducted by VISA, the youngest and the oldest are the least prepared for financial setbacks.

There was a time in my life when I was spending more than I was earning. It was so easy to swipe the credit card and then hope I'll save enough money to pay for the purchases I made. Although I never skipped payment, my bank savings suffered.
Last week, I was invited to participate in an exclusive Praxis media event at the newly built Praxis Financial Gym to experience the Praxis Gameplay. It was a fun and interactive learning experience I didn't notice I was already playing for 2 hours and still felt I need more hours to make up with my "wrong" financial decisions.

Each Praxis Gameplay is facilitated by a certified Game Master directing its flow and announcing realistic "Breaking News" such as health scares, drastic changes in stock prices, and other news bits players need to make decision about their money.

My thoughts about Praxis Gameplay
I noticed that my financial decisions during the gameplay reflected how I would act in real life. I am conservative and feel comfortable putting my money in low-risk investments.
Cash liquidity, savings, insurance and retirement are non-negotiable for me. My only regret during the game was not being able to buy at least one property. I passed up the opportunity to upgrade my career and focused too much on saving money to buy a property. I would have saved sooner if I invested money on "education and training" for my career and earn more. (deja vu!!!)
The Praxis Financial Gym is located at Classica 1 Condominium, 112 H.V. Dela Costa, Salcedo Village, Makati, 1227 Metro Manila. You can bring in your family/friends at 500 per player, minimum of 8 players. If you wish to bring the gameplay in your company, you may request for a proposal depending on your need/objective.
