If you love watching movies at SM City Masinag, you definitely have seen Rye and Dean's. It has the perfect location near the cinema at the 3rd level. Funny thing, Rye and Dean's is best known for its wiener sandwiches but what I always buy from them is the corn dog or the corn puppies. Last Sunday, I was invited to the relaunch of Rye and Dean's. Finally, I was able to have a taste of their winner wieners and realized I've been missing a lot.
Gourmet Wiener Buns
The Gournet Wiener Buns are dogs with an attitude! The juicy sausage is garnished with toppings that will definitely tickle the taste buds of an epicure. The choices include Mexican Mutt, Italian Hound, Korean Collie, Chili Chow-Chow, Mac N' Cheese Great Dane, Cheesy Bacon Lab, and Breakfast Beagle.
I ordered the Chili Chow-Chow. This sausage topped with chili and beans, onions, and jalapeno is one of their bestsellers. For P195, it is served with your choice of nachos or skinny fries and blue lemonade.
My friend Cie who loves everything Korean ordered the Korean Collie. This sausage sandwich has kimchi, pineapples, and Korean sauce. Expect the Chili Chow-Chow and the Korean Collie to be spicy.
The Cheesy Bacon Lab is the cheesiest of them all. The sausage is topped with bacon, melted mozzarella, and cheddar cheese.
If you are undecided whether you want a sandwich or a pizza, the Italian Hound is the perfect choice. The sausage has pizza sauce, cheese, bologna, bell pepper, and olives. The Mexican Mutt has fresh salsa, jalapeno, crushed nachos, and cheese.
It's carbs overload for Mac N' Cheese Great Dane. You've got to have a big appetite because this sandwich is topped with Mac N' Cheese, and Chili and Beans. If you want to have your breakfast any time of the day, the Breakfast Beagle has sliced bologna, cucumber, and scrambled eggs.
Specialty Buns
When you are having the "I-don't-feel-like-eating-wiener" kind of day, the Specialty Buns have Lemon Pepper Tuna, Corned Beef Mesh, BBQ Pork Flakes, and Chicken Bushido.
The BBQ Pork Flakes has a generous serving of pork flakes with BBQ sauce and topped with sunny side up egg.
The Chicken Bushido is Japanese-inspired. The chicken has tonkatsu sauce, sesame sauce, and topped with nori strips.
The Meal Deal
The Meal Deal is offered on both the Gourmet Wiener Buns and the Specialty Buns. The price ranges from P175 to P235 for regular, large or jumbo serving. The Meal Deal includes your choice of Nachos or Skinny Fries and a drink. Want a long bun? Just add P99 to make it twice the size.
And if you don't want to share it, choose the Rye and Dean's Double Deal. For only P249, you'll get 2 Hungarian Buns and 2 Blue Lemonade.
Another interesting option is the Build Your Own Wiener Buns. Your choice of German Sausage, Hungarian Sausage, or Cheese Sausage comes with FREE and UNLIMITED add-on toppings. You only need to add P75 to turn it into a long bun!
Make sure you still have space for the mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce and for dessert!
The Ice Cream Buns come in three flavors: Cookies and Cream, Hokey Pokey Caramel, and Strawberry Graham.
