The fourth annual Tanduay Bacolod Rum Festival is set to ignite the city from August 10 to 18 with the theme "Ambagan," a celebration of community and collaboration. This year's event promises a dynamic fusion of food, arts, music, and entertainment.
Originating as a tribute to Bacolod's sugarcane industry, the backbone of Tanduay's award-winning rums, the festival has grown into a beloved annual tradition since its inception in 2019.
"We envision Bacolod as the heart and soul of Tanduay," said Lucio Tan III, President of LT Group and Tanduay Distillers, Inc. "This festival is a testament to our strong partnership with the local government, showcasing Bacolod's rich culinary heritage and artistic talent."
Councilor Em Ang, Chairman of Bacolod City History, Culture, and Arts, expressed gratitude for the continued support of the festival. "This event not only preserves our culture but also boosts our local economy," she stated.
The festival kicks off with a motorcade on August 10, leading to the opening of the Food Park at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC). The park will feature nightly entertainment, local and international cuisine, and creative mixology until August 18.
Additional highlights include a Mixology Competition on August 12, a Culinaria Competition on August 14-15, and a Rum Education Day featuring a plant tour and masterclass on August 16. A grand motorcade parade, Street Dance Competition, and a concert featuring Juan Karlos and Almost will cap off the festival on August 17.
