Enter the Twisted World of Forbidden Desire and Obsession in 'The Killing Kind’ - a gripping cat & mouse thriller coming soon on Lionsgate Play

The Killing Kind

What if your stalker was the only one who could save your life? In The Killing Kind, a gripping psychological thriller series based on Jane Casey's best selling novel, dive into the treacherous world of forbidden desire where the stakes are high and trust is a dangerous game.

This edge of the seat mystery unravels the complicated relationship between Ingrid Lewis (Emma Appleton, The Witcher, Everything I Know About Love), a successful defense lawyer, and her former client, John Webster (Colin Morgan, Merlin), a businessman embroiled in controversy. After defending Webster against stalking allegations, Ingrid becomes entangled in an illicit affair that spirals out of control, shattering her world.

As Ingrid attempts to rebuild her life, tragedy strikes when her colleague and mentor, Belinda, is fatally struck in a hit-and-run incident on a bustling London street. Convinced she was the intended target, Ingrid is determined to uncover the truth, even as the police remain skeptical. But, when Webster returns with a chilling revelation —someone is out to kill her, and he might be her only hope for survival - Ingrid is forced to confront a terrifying question — Can she trust the one man who has already shattered her world? With the body count rising, Ingrid must race against time to unravel the truth and save herself in this deadly cat and mouse chase.

Talking about the chemistry between Ingrid and his character Webster, Colin Morgan told Total TV Guide, "There is sometimes something undefinable in people. It feels right and wrong and compulsive all at the same time. That's the dynamic we played with. There needs to be an absolute level of trust between us as actors, in both the dialogue scenes and the intimate physical scenes."

On playing flawed characters, Emma Appleton told Gulf News, "I have a history of playing broad characters. I enjoy it because we, as human beings, are flawed. There’s no one out there that’s infallible. When you have characters that are not [flawed], you don’t really buy into them as much … Those faults make us relatable."

Packed with heart pounding suspense and intriguing cliffhangers, The Killing kind will keep you on the edge of your seats until the final moment. Don’t miss the premiere on Lionsgate Play this November 29.
