Produced by Lakan Hila, The Bloomfields’ keyboardist and lead guitarist, “Balikan” delivers lush, melodic layers that pay homage to the golden age of music. Drawing inspiration from George Harrison’s soulful sound and the dreamy tones of late ‘60s and early ‘70s psychedelia, the song radiates both modern polish and vintage charm,  a soundscape that feels familiar yet refreshingly new.

A Collaboration of Musical Greats

Adding even more magic to “Balikan” is a lineup of Filipino music legends who lent their artistry to the track. The song features Benjie Santos of The Jerks on drums, Rey Abella on keyboards, and the acclaimed Kakoy Legaspi on lead guitar.

The Bloomfields’ bassist Louie Poco described the track as “peaceful and easy to listen to playful yet solemn. It captures a nostalgic feeling that takes you back to the good old days.”

Poco further shared, “It’s a sound that steps outside the usual Bloomfields character. You can really feel the different personalities blending together in this track.”
