A Time Travel in Color: An Afternoon at ORLY's Exclusive 2025 Collections Launch

Sunday, May 25

As someone who finds joy in the little luxuries—like the sound of nail polish bottles clinking or the comforting hum of a nail dryer—being invited to the exclusive launch of ORLY’s 2025 Color Collections with Tulua Nail Spa & Café felt like stepping into a self-care dream.

Nestled in the cozy, welcoming corner of Scout Rallos in Timog, Quezon City, Tulua isn’t just your regular nail salon—it’s a café-meets-spa haven where the scent of essential oils mingles with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The event, aptly called COLOR REWIND, promised a nostalgic trip through time—and it absolutely delivered.

From the moment we stepped in, we could feel the celebratory air. This wasn't just any nail event; this was the opening act for ORLY’s 50th Anniversary, and they weren’t holding back. The star of the show? Two vibrant and beautifully curated collections: the 1970s and 1980s nail lacquers and GelFX lines.

The Retro Collection

ORLY’s 1970s Collection is a total vibe. Think groovy, carefree, and unapologetically bold. The moment we saw the shade names, we knew we were in for a color trip straight out of a vinyl-spinning, disco-dancing daydream. Let’s start with Acid Trip, a psychedelic pop of color that feels like a wild splash of freedom on your fingertips. Then there’s Shaggin Wagon, a retro, earthy hue that makes us want to jump into a van with flower decals and just drive. Hunky Dory? It’s as smooth and chill as its name suggest is perfect for laid-back days that still need a touch of glam. Bohemian Child brings out your inner free spirit with a warm, artsy tone that feels like summer music festivals and barefoot afternoons. Bell Bottom Blues gives classic cool-girl energy, rich and soulful with just the right amount of edge. And finally, Night Fever is a deep, dazzling shade that’s made for dancing under a mirror ball. This collection isn’t just nail polish—it’s a whole aesthetic, and we are living for it.

If summer had a mood, ORLY's 1980s Collection would be it! This lineup is pure retro magic, bursting with six electric shades that scream poolside playlists, roller skates, and sun-soaked afternoons. We couldn't help but feel the throwback vibes as the nail technician swiped on Stay Rad, a bold bright purple crème that instantly transported Maricar to vintage arcade halls. Then there’s Be Kind Rewind, a vibrant blue that feels like a cool splash of nostalgia. For those of us living for drama and sass, Shut Up Heather brings that hot fuchsia attitude to your fingertips—total main character energy! Most Definitely, a neon coral that practically glows, pairs perfectly with sun-kissed skin, while Cowabunga!, a juicy neon orange, channels endless beach energy. And let’s not forget Mallrat, a bright aqua that has us ready to hit every summer pop-up and iced coffee stand in style. Available in both Nail Lacquer and Gel FX, these shades aren't just colors—they're an 80s time capsule, bottled and ready for your next mani. Summer’s never looked this rad!

The Experience

We could already see the colors painting tiny memories on each fingertip. But this was more than just a color launch. It was an immersive, pampering experience.

We were ushered into Tulua’s plush nail stations, where expert nail artists transformed our fingertips into tiny canvases using the newest ORLY shades. My beauty blogger team member Maricar opted for a rad bright purple creme hue from the 80s lineup. A bold choice, but hey—it was a day for fearless fun.

And let’s talk about the food—because this café knows how to treat your tastebuds as well as your cuticles. Indulgent café treats were served throughout the afternoon, paired perfectly with aromatic coffee that made the cozy experience even more inviting.

ORLY and Tulua nailed it (pun very much intended). It was an afternoon of colors, connection, and confidence—all wrapped up in a perfect mani.

And if this event is any indication, ORLY’s 50th year is just getting started. Orly enthusiasts, brace yourselves. The next chapter in nail color history is going to be unforgettable.
