Filipino band The Bloomfields are taking listeners on a trippy visual ride with the release of their new music video for “Pink Skies”, premiering this Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:30 PM. Known for their vintage-tinged sound, the band is now pairing their music with a bold, psychedelic collage-style video that’s as raw as it is imaginative.
A Handmade Visual Experience
The video was directed and edited by Louie Poco, the band’s bassist, who took on the challenge of creating a surreal animated collage from scratch. “It was my first time experimenting with green screen and animated collage,” Louie shares. “No AI involved, just countless hours of hands-on editing and flexing creative muscles.”
Instead of going for polished perfection, Poco leaned into the beauty of imperfection, embracing quirks and rough edges as part of the art. The result? A kaleidoscope of colors, textures, and psychedelic cut-outs that capture the dreamy spirit of “Pink Skies.”
Inspired by Filipino Collage Art
Louie drew inspiration from local collage artists Andrea Cervantes and Charlie Salazar, both known for their distinct cut-out style. Just like the band’s music, the visuals embrace a retro yet human quality—vintage, playful, and bursting with creativity.
“Its imperfections are exactly what make it beautiful and trippy,” Louie explains. “It’s not about polished perfection, but about joy, creativity, and the spirit of something crafted with love.”
A Soundtrack of Endless Summer
On the sonic side, “Pink Skies” blends Britpop and indie rock influences, offering a dreamy yet energetic escape. The track feels like an endless summer—equal parts radiant anthem and shimmering fantasy. It’s a hopeful break from reality, a reminder that light can always cut through the storm.
Released earlier this month via Lilystars Records, “Pink Skies” is already available on all digital music platforms worldwide.
