PAWS currently shelters 248 rescues, and through collaboration with LGUs, has offered 1,925 free spay and neuter services to help indigent families care for their pets. These numbers highlight the urgent need for better planning and support systems for pets.

FWD’s new initiative helps fill this gap by promoting responsible, forward-looking pet ownership  something many fur moms and fur dads don’t usually think about.

How FWD’s “The One for Pet Lovers” Works

Pets are family, but legally, they cannot inherit money or property. They also cannot be listed as beneficiaries on a life insurance policy. This means their care fully depends on the arrangements you make ahead of time.

FWD’s offering encourages owners to:

• Appoint a trusted guardian (the policy beneficiary)
• Prepare clear care instructions for their pet
• Include pets in their will or estate plan
• Provide financial support to the designated guardian via life insurance

This ensures that should the unexpected happen, the person caring for your pet is financially equipped to continue giving them the love and attention they deserve.

At the recent launch event at the PAWS Shelter, FWD emphasized that owning a pet is similar to raising a child, they depend on us for everything. This initiative helps guarantee their well-being even when we’re no longer around.

Every policy purchased also supports PAWS. A portion of the proceeds goes directly to its:

• Animal Rehabilitation Center operations
• Medical care for rescues
• Anti-cruelty campaigns
