We've been planning for ages to dine at Kanzhu along Marcos Highway in Marikina. One fateful night, my husband was supposed to play tennis at Marikina Sports Park. I checked the rain prediction -- 20% chance of rain. He confirmed the 8 o'clock schedule. We left the house 30 minutes early and drops of rain started pouring. Then came the heavy downpour. The tennis court got soaked.
With nothing else to do but make the most of the trip, we decided to have dinner. The cold, rainy night brought us to Kanzhu. Finally.
I ordered Braised Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup, Pork Siomai and Classic Milk Tea. My husband ordered Tendon Noodle Soup and Hazelnut Milk Tea. The hot broth was so comforting. Suddenly our disappointment from the cancelled tennis game vanished. The Pork Siomai is really yummy. I took a sip of my husband's Hazelnut Milk Tea and vowed to order that for myself on our next visit.
