The #CertifiedBloggers were invited by Chef Mira Cruz for an intimate food tasting afternoon at her newly opened restaurant Artisan Emporium in Estancia Mall at Capitol Commons. The first thing I noticed about the place is it's simplicity. It exudes a warm and intimate ambience. Cozy. Not intimidating. It's a place where you would like to have a relaxed conversation with a loved one over a cup of coffee, enjoy lunch with friends or have a me-time with a slice of cake.
The Food Experience
Buttered Pandesal, Cheese Pimiento Spread and Blueberry Liver Pate |
A warm pan de sal is a breakfast staple among Filipinos. But this bread has actually earned the title all-day bread because we eat this anytime of the day. Artisan Emporium's Buttered Pandesal has brought back childhood memories as my teeth sink into it's softness. A favorite spread of mine is the Cheese Pimiento. Chef Mira's version has a buttery taste with the perfect amount of saltiness and pimiento. A welcome variation of the usual. The Blueberry Liver Pate has aroused my interest. I love blueberry cheesecake and never have I imagined combining blueberries and liver pate. Perfect marriage of ingredients. I had this for my next three pandesal.
Pumpkin Soup |
I have two favorite soups -- Pumpkin and Clam Chowder. Both are available at Artisan Emporium. They also have Truffled Mushroom. This one I must try when I visit. The Pumpkin Soup is smooth and creamy. I don't like a pumpkin soup that's a bit chunky. This one is just right. I find it a bit salty for my taste though since I'm on a low-salt diet.
Hickory Pork |
My family and friends know how much I like anything braised with hickory sauce. I always have a bottle in my pantry. I was all smiles when Hickory Pork was served. Chef Mira makes her own Hickory Sauce and we are convincing her to please sell this sauce in a bottle because it is so good.
Chicken Galantina |
Chicken Galantina is a dish I associate with Christmas and a dish I can't cook because it's too complicated for my cooking skills, or lack thereof. The serving at Artisan Emporium is generous and the gravy complements the dish. I brought some home for my hubby and he devoured it!
Moringa Iced Tea |
A refreshing drink with a twist offered at Artisan Emporium is the Moringa Iced Tea. Had I brought a car, I'll buy bottles of this to bring home.
For The Sweet Tooth
S'mores Cake |
A traditional campfire treat at the comfort of your table at Artisan Emporium is the S'mores Cake. Make sure you still have space for dessert and coffee!
Red Velvet Panna Cotta |
Artisan Emporium also serves desserts in a jar. One of them is the Red Velvet Panna Cotta.
Salted Graham Panna Cotta |
I am not a dessert person. But the Salted Graham Panna Cotta has captured my taste buds. This is so good I had to let a spoonful linger in my mouth and spend a moment in silence to savor the taste. I fell in love with these. I wanna run to Artisan Emporium as I write this. This is LOVE.
Fresh Out Breads
The breads from Artisan Emporium are freshly baked. Chef Mira assured us that these breads don't contain preservatives and bromate-free.
