Wednesday, June 19

Rising singer-songwriter syd hartha continues to make her mark in OPM with the powerful single “ayaw”, a track that takes a bold stand against sexual harassment and underscores the importance of respecting boundaries.

Best known for her soulful folk-pop style and heartfelt lyricism, the young artist moves beyond personal stories in this release, choosing instead to use her platform to speak up for women and survivors of abuse.

“It is undeniable that sexual harassment continues to be a prevalent issue that we face today,” syd shares. “I feel for the victims of catcalling and rape, and understand how hard it is to talk about their experience. As a musician, I know I have to use my voice for all the victims and survivors. This inspired me to write ayaw.”

The song reflects her growth as an artist, showcasing not just her lyrical maturity but also her evolving sound. With blues-inspired elements and an organic production style, “ayaw” offers a raw yet empowering vibe that highlights both her artistry and her advocacy.

Marking her third single and first release under Sony Music Philippines, “ayaw” is now available on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes Store, and Deezer.

Through this track, syd hartha proves that music can be a powerful tool for awareness, empathy, and change.
