Paladin Hotel: An Affordable Place To Stay In Baguio

Almost three weeks before our scheduled Baguio side trip, I have been searching day and night for an affordable but comfortable stay. I've shortlisted my options and finally decided to book at Paladin Hotel.

Factors I considered:
  • Availability of online booking and instant confirmation on the hotel's own website
  • Accessibility
  • Affordability
  • Free breakfast
  • Travelers' reviews

I booked through their website and true enough I got an instant confirmation.

Me and my sisters arrived in Baguio from La Union via Partas bus. We alighted at Kisad Road. Paladin Hotel is located at the corner of Kisad Road and Carino Street. The hotel is also within walking distance to Good Taste Restaurant and Cafe by the Ruins which is great because they were part of my "must-eat-here" list.

We arrived at the hotel a little past eleven in the morning.  Standard check-in time is 2pm. Luckily, our room is already available. It only took us ten minutes for the check-in formalities. The staff are polite and very efficient.

We stayed at their Premier Deluxe Room. The rate is P2,899 inclusive of three plated breakfast. The room is spacious and very clean except for the weird musty smell every time you enter the room but the smell quickly disappears after a few seconds. The bathroom is really very small. There is hot and cold shower and a bidet! The bidet is important to me so the small dimension of the bathroom became forgivable.

Please take note that Paladin Hotel doesn't have an elevator. If climbing up and down the stairs is a problem, do not stay here. If your only concern is your luggage, they are very much willing to carry your luggage.

The free breakfast is plated. You get to choose one viand plus egg, fried rice, dessert and a choice of milo or coffee.

I'm not a big breakfast eater so this is fine with me.

Very generous with the dessert --- the mango is sooo sweet!

Extras:
  • towel, shampoo & conditioner, soap, dental kit and bedroom slippers are provided
  • tv with cable channels
  • room service available until 9pm. A variety of choices from the menu. (I've got a hunch the food is coming from Good Taste)

  1. Usually establishments and schools here do not have elevators -- kaya obvious sa mga legs namin ang muscle power :D Imagine going to the 6th floor library puro hagdan--- hahhah! well, we are health conscious lang siguro :P

  2. People in Manila are just tamad. Sometimes kapiraso lang na lakad mag tricycle pa. Oh wait... not tamad really. Super init lang siguro kase dito na kapag naghagdan ka or naglakad panigurado basa agad kili-kili mo sa pawis hahaha

  3. malamang yun ang main reason-- ako talaga sumusuko sa init! nagiging tigre ako.... hahahah
