Groceries for your rider: A thoughtful way to give back to those who makes life easier for us

5/2/21

Ever since since the government has implemented safety guidelines because of the pandemic, I have been relying on the services provided by Grab. From the usual GrabFood orders for my breakfast, snacks, and dinner, I have also started using GrabMart. While it these services have made my life easier and spared me from the possibility of getting sick because of the virus, I can't help but think of the sacrifices made by the riders. Just like the medical frontliners, these riders are risking their lives and more often they are unappreciated.

In my own small way, I make sure I add a tip to every rider that delivers my food or if my budget permit I buy them a simple meal. When I found out that Grab has launched the #GrabMartForYourRider, I was delighted. I'm aware that there are riders who very much want to queue at the community pantry to bring home a few grocery items for the family but they can't because they are working. Through this GrabMart new feature, customers can now buy groceries too for the riders delivering their orders.

‘Di mapapantayan ang lahat ng pagsisikap n’yo sa pag deliver para sa’aming lahat. Kaya ngayong Labor Day, kami naman ang may surprise delivery para sa inyo, Grab Riders!

I watched this touching video uploaded on Grab's Facebook page and I can't help but get misty-eyed. I know that some of them wishes they could also bring home groceries to their family whenever they deliver our groceries. Life is tough. It's not easy to earn money these days. Mapapa- #SanaAll ka naman talaga, di ba?

NestlĂ©, PepsiCo, Unilever, Eden, Bioflu, and Robinsons Supermarket -- these are the brands that I patronize and I'm glad they partnered with GrabMart to make this box full of groceries possible for the riders who were featured in the video.

The next time you order from GrabMart, consider buying something for your rider. It will truly make them smile. And I'm sure you'll be blessed so you could continue to be a source of blessing to others.
