Where To Eat In Baguio: Good Taste Cafe & Restaurant

5/31/14

I've been reading and hearing a lot about Good Taste Cafe & Restaurant in Baguio. So this restaurant made it to the top of my itinerary. I'm super delighted because the restaurant (take note of the word "New" because this is a branch) is within walking distance from Paladin Hotel.

This one is located at Otek corner Carino Street. The waitress told me that this branch is bigger (six floors high) compared to the old branch at Lapu-Lapu Street. Since we arrived lunch time, we had to queue and wait to be seated.

A few minutes later, we were given a table. I noticed the restaurant has an effective system. Vacated tables are cleaned right away. The dining crew are very attentive.

THE FOOD

This was our first meal of the day so we decided to start it off with a hot bowl of Hototay Soup. This small bowl is good for 3 pax and costs P105 ($2.50). It was not as hot as I expected and hoped it to be. Probably because the weather is too cold and the food got cold quickly.

A bowl of Fried Rice costs P110 ($2.60). The taste is bland. This is good for 3 pax but can feed 4.

One of the "must eat" I've read from other bloggers is the Buttered Chicken. Two other variants are available -- Hot & Spicy and Garlic. I ordered half serving of the Garlic Buttered Chicken. I think there's about 7 pieces of chicken for only P165 ($3.90). This is really delish!

Another "must eat" is the Lechon Chopsuey. The vegetables taste so fresh and crunchy to the bite. And there's an abundance of lechon! An order costs P135 ($3.20).

The generous serving of Good Taste Cafe and Restaurant is ideal for those dining with family and group. But if you are going solo, they also have rice toppings.

Too bad my stomach doesn't have any room left for a slice of pie.
