Shaburi & Kintan Buffet: My All-You-Can Eat Yakiniku Dining Experience

Monday, July 8

Shaburi & Kintan Buffet opened its newest branch last June 25 at Japantown Top of the Glo in Glorietta. This restaurant have Japanese shabu shabu and yakiniku under one roof.  Diners can choose if they want the Japanese shabu shabu of Shaburi or the Japanese BBQ of Kintan.

I was in the mood for some bbq so I opted for Kintan's buffet course. To order, you will first have to choose a course: Regular Buffet, Kintan Buffet, Premium Kintan Buffet, and Special Wagyu Buffet. The same course menu should be selected by all members of the group in the same table.

Kintan Rice

Next, you will have to choose your rice: Kintan rice or steamed rice. I had the Kintan rice. It's a steamed rice with special sauce, green onion, and strips of seaweed.

Choose your meat. The menu has a wide selection of good quality pork, beef, and chicken meat. For your first order, you are allowed to order two plates per person. To ensure the freshness of the meat, the raw meats are freshly-sliced upon customer's order. After your first order, there is no more limit to the number of meat plates you will order.

Since it's my first time to eat at Shaburi & Kintan buffet, the waiters were very helpful in suggesting the "must-try" and the perfect duration in cooking the meat.

One of the staff was kind enough to prepare a dipping sauce for me. It's a sweet sauce added with lots of garlic and red chili.

Foodie tip: Request for a cheese curry dipping sauce. It complements the chicken.

Aside from the eat-all-you can meat, there is also a buffet table where you can find fresh vegetables, pasta, appetizers, karaage, Japanese curry, sushi rolls, side dishes, and dessert.

Not to be skipped is the beef gyudon. It's tender and mildy sweet. Probably the best gyudon I've tasted.

The drink bar offers cucumber lemonade, iced tea, soda, Milo, and UCC coffee.

Make sure your tummy still has space for a matcha ice cream.

Diners have 90 minutes to enjoy the buffet. An additional P190 per 30 minutes extension per person will be charged if you exceeded the allotted time.

Honestly, 90 minutes is more than enough. I even had time to take photos for this article and yet I was to full already before my 90 minutes was over.

Love Desserts Buffet: Sweet Indulgence for P199

Thursday, December 17

It was a gloomy, rainy Tuesday morning when I got to visit Love Desserts in Banawe for the first time. When I saw the buffet spread, I know the 90-minute commute all the way from Antipolo was all worth it. I was the first to arrive and had the pleasure of taking photos of what Love Desserts has to offer that day.

Let me share with you some of my favorite from the desserts table. Ready?

Strawberry Cheesecake

There were at least three kinds of cheesecake at the buffet table. I love cheesecakes because they don't make me feel guilty eating two slices.

Crepe Cake at Love Desserts
Crepe Cake

The crepe cake is a winner! Kinda felt like this goes perfect with a cup of coffee. But I'm not a coffee drinker which made me feel like I'm missing out a lot.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

The Chocolate Chip Cookies were placed near the ice cream freezer. It was so tempting to make an ice cream cookie drizzled with chocolate syrup from the crepe station.

Chocolate Caramel Brownie

This brownie with caramel sauce is so moist and soft and delish!

I love anything with strawberry and gelatin so I devoured two of these!

I want a mango dessert that uses real mangoes. These shots got really mango bits!

I don't know what this one is called. Somewhat tasted like cookies and cream.

Halo-halo station

I didn't make it to the halo-halo station. I told myself that this will be the highlight of my desserts buffet but I was too full already.

Chili Cheese Roll and Nachos

The culprit why I wasn't able to eat halo-halo. I had too many of these in between my desserts rounds. I'm glad Love Desserts offers these non-dessert dishes.

Are you craving now? Here are more photos...

For only P199 good for 2 hours, you'll get to enjoy your money's worth. Aside from the desserts, your P199 includes unlimited iced tea, milk tea, coffee and hot tea. There's also a crepe station and an ice cream station.

Ala carte menu is available if you want to have a meal first before having the dessert buffet.

And because Love Desserts Buffet is budget-friendly, these Thomasians can beat the stress out of university life.

International Buffet at Seasons Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino

Friday, November 20

We can already feel the coming of the Christmas season. The air is becoming chilly and the roads are adorned with Christmas lights. To welcome the holiday season, Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino's Seasons lifestyle restaurant re-launches a vast wide array of buffet spread. Celebrating its first holiday dinner for Php 999 every Friday and Saturday, Italian Executive Chef Giovanni Sias reintroduces a new take on savoring eat-all-you-can.

"In Italy, everything is prepared and served fresh from the kitchen. Buffets are usually found intimidating and costly with the food laid out waiting to be indulged. With ours, you get a vast array of choices which is pleasant to your eye, made fresh by batches and refilled only when the demand asks for it." Sias explains.

Truth to Sias roots, Seasons' is taking buffet into a different level where cooking is elevated to performance art using only the freshest and finest ingredients including micro-greens.

For the month of November, Season's is taking us to a gastronomic tour of International buffet celebrating every nationality. A great value for money.

"We've got staples and a mix of what holidays the other nationalities have. We're having Vegetable Samosa, Vegetable burgers, Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka; Kasmiri, Pullao and Curry to celebrate India's Diwali (festival of lights), and some artisan gourmet cheeses, bacon, poutine and maple syrum for Canada's remebrance day. We're also having Turkey for the Thanksgiving weekend, and fresh hand-pulled noodles into perfection. We don't forget the fun in devouring great food." Sias added.
