Yes, Parents Can Navigate Today's World of Parenting with Confidence

Thursday, June 06, 2024

Parenting today feels like a wild ride, filled with thrilling surprises and unexpected twists. The journey is tougher1 than ever, as parents juggle endless commitments, adapt to ever-changing standards, and navigate a world where technology is everywhere. Even the most seasoned parents can feel overwhelmed and pressured. Truly, “The struggle is real.”

It seems that this sentiment resonates globally. A 2021 study by Nestle2 highlighted this pressure as the biggest universal challenge new parents face. Sadly, despite being in a hyper-connected and almost always online world, many can feel this pressure intensely, alongside feelings of isolation and loneliness, as if they have no one to turn to.

Adding to the burden – parents are confronted with overwhelming social pressure to raise their children in a certain way. Many report being bombarded with unsolicited advice, whether they welcome it or not, further adding to their stress and confusion.

On a related note, a study by Wakefield Research3 revealed another aspect that could be related to parents’ pressure: their concern about spending quality time with their kids due to their busy schedules and financial constraints. In this situation, parents are likely pressured to find ways to grow, enrich, and maximize their time and resources if they want to better support their kids’ development and well-being.

These challenges are ever-present and real, and it’s essential for parents to know they’re not alone. They need a guiding hand, a supportive presence to help them through each exciting stage of raising their kids. They need someone who understands their unique struggles, an ally who can assure them with confidence, “You’ve got this, Mom,” or, “You can do it, Dad.” They need someone who will reliably hold their hand, offering support exactly when and where they need it.

Here’s Why You Should Give Your Kids More High Fives

Wednesday, December 13, 2023

Find out why giving a high five is healthy for kids and may help them become future-ready!

Did you know that giving your kids high fives more often can be a powerful tool for their learning and emotional development?

Giving high fives to your child offers numerous benefits as they grow up, including increased emotional and intellectual support. A 2014 study entitled High Fives Motivate: The Effects of Gestural and Ambiguous Verbal Praise on Motivation by Morris and Zentall shows that using gestures when giving praise resulted in increased persistence and positive feelings among children.

High fives fosters positive social interaction between you and your child, as high-fives signify appreciation. This generates emotions such as joy and self-confidence.

According to American life and parenting coach Mel Peirce, high fives increase motivation, signaling encouragement and appreciation for their efforts, which in turn motivates children to persist in their tasks despite making mistakes, ultimately leading to greater levels of success.

In fact, celebrating both big and small wins have a lot of benefits to a child as it boosts their confidence even more. Giving them high fives for their accomplishments–from as small as brushing their teeth to big wins such as finishing a painting, and even when kids ask for help in solving a math problem instead of throwing the pen on the floor–increases motivation to enjoy and have fun whenever they do schoolwork or their own hobbies and passions.

Actress Kristine Hermosa, now a mother of five, underscores the significance of providing children with not only praise for their accomplishments but also motivation and a positive experience for every task they undertake.

"I think it's more important for children to feel the support and motivation from their parents, not just to receive recognition or appreciation for a job well done. In fact, they are more likely to excel if they know they are motivated and encouraged by their parents and loved ones."

Alongside the motivational support that kids receive from their parents, it is also important for them to be nurtured with proper nutrition that will further boost their growth and development.

Boosting intellectual and emotional development with Enfagrow A+ Four

It is such a big win for parents when their kids reach the toddler stage and begin schooling. In fact, their child is in a crucial stage as 90% of a person's brain develops before age 6.

This underscores the importance of proper nutrition for a strong foundation in a child's brain development. Children need the right nutrition to support their developmental milestones, particularly their IQ and EQ.

For Kristine, it's essential to provide emotional support to her children while also giving them a nutritional boost to aid their growth and development.

"I carefully select what they eat, drink, and consume. I want to ensure that these choices have long-term health benefits and will genuinely contribute to their intellectual and emotional growth."

One way to provide kids with the essential boost for their brain development is by offering them a milk formula containing a nutrient called MFGM, or milk fat globule membrane which helps support the development of a child’s IQ & EQ.

Enfagrow A+ Four Nurapro and Enfagrow Gentlease 3+ are the only milk formulas with MFGM among staged milks. Clinical studies have proven that MFGM can lead to higher IQ and EQ development that lasts until school age, together with proper nutrition and stimulation, compared to formulas without MFGM. For children with sensitive tummies, there is Enfagrow Gentlease 3+, containing PHP (partially hydrolyzed proteins), a nutrient that aids digestion and gut health, in conjunction with proper nutrition and stimulation.

With Enfagrow A+ Four Nurapro and Enfagrow Gentlease 3+, parents can confidently provide their children with the necessary nutrition to support their need for a healthy balance of IQ and EQ, aiding their success in comprehension as well as dealing with social and emotional situations as they become more ready in school.

Over 85% of Pinoy parents confident about engaging their kids on online safety

Saturday, September 30, 2023

As children grow up constantly connected and online, there’s a growing and ever-present danger of them being exposed early to inappropriate content and internet fraud.

The good news is that, according to Google’s latest Online Safety Survey, the majority of parents in the Philippines (87.4%) are confident in engaging their child on the topic of online safety.

However, parents are finding it increasingly challenging to keep up, with 53.2% of Filipino parents having difficulty finding the right time to talk about online safety with their children, an increase from 40% in 2022. At the same time, digital ground rules are changing, as their child grows up: 71.1% of parents in the Philippines expect to change their rules for their child's internet use as their child gets older.

As part of its commitment and mission to make the internet safer for people all over, Google has a variety of useful features to improve the online experiences of children and parents alike.

A safer, more age-appropriate Google Search

This year’s survey showed that the most common online safety issue for children is seeing inappropriate content online, occurring at least once to 61% of children (compared to 54% last year), followed by seeing misinformation, deceptive ads or spam, and violent content.

Fortunately, there are easy-to-use solutions for parents. They can activate age-appropriate content restrictions on Google Play and Search via Family Link. They can also use another useful feature in SafeSearch, which is on by default for signed-in users under 18 and helps filter inappropriate, explicit, and mature content. Its new blurring setting, which is now available to everyone, automatically blurs explicit imagery — such as adult or graphic violent content — by default when it appears in Search results.

Setting online ground rules with Family Link

As children grow older, parents may need to adjust their digital ground rules. According to the survey, 69% of parents in Asia Pacific plan to change their house rules with time, and 49% will allow their children to spend more time online as they age. The majority of these parents use technology to support their children's education, help them explore their interests, and find high-quality educational content.

Parents are also learning how to use technology to keep up. For example, apps like Family Link allow parents to easily set digital ground rules and manage screen time.

Providing safer online exploration

Google also has products that easily turn the internet into a great environment for learning. For example, YouTube Kids provides a more contained and curated environment for kids to explore on YouTube, making it easier for parents and caregivers to guide that process. Meanwhile, supervised experience on YouTube becomes handy, allowing parents who have decided their tween or teen is ready to explore more of YouTube to do so through a supervised Google Account.

With exploration of the internet also comes the vulnerability to online fraud. Parents across Asia Pacific also flagged concerns around their children oversharing information on social media (45% at least once) and receiving unwanted attention from strangers (38% at least once). That’s why, in addition to using technology with built-in protection, it’s crucial to educate children through resources like the free digital literacy curriculum Be Internet Awesome.

Embracing technology with guardrails for safe, reliable content and also empowering kids to make informed decisions are essential in today’s digital parenting. Parents, together with Google, can help children stay safe and thrive in the online world.

Enfagrow A+ Four Nurapro

Celebrity Mom Coleen Garcia, child wonder Annika Co, and child-development experts share tips on developing higher IQ and EQ for kids

A new school year has started! Aside from excitement, kids as well as their parents may also feel anxious about whether they are ready to face the new challenges in school. This is why a lot of preparation is needed, especially since many schools are now going back to face-to-face classes.

School readiness is often measured by the kids’ ability to read and write before school starts. However, aside from their physical and cognitive skills, parents should also give importance to the development of their child's EQ, which involves social and emotional skills.

With children now more dependent on technology, their exposure and activities outside their homes may cause fears, anxieties, and even delayed brain development. Parents get more anxious during school-opening season, plagued by the thought that they may not be doing enough to prepare their kids for school.

In an event presented by Enfagrow A+ Four NuraPro called "Getting Kids School-Ready, Future Ready!" actress-TV host Iza Calzado-Wintle talked to fellow parents and experts about ways to develop children’s IQ and EQ to make them ready for challenges and have a smooth transition into the new school year.

Determine the right learning approach

Tina Zamora, Directress of Nest School for Whole Child Development, stressed the importance of determining which learning approach is best for your kids.

"It starts with understanding your child's learning style and interests. Montessori education centers on self-directed learning and hands-on exploration. If they thrive in structured environments and value clear guidelines, traditional learning might be suitable. On the other hand, if they're curious, creative, and enjoy exploring, progressive learning could be a better fit."

Dr. Ma. Theresa Arranz-Lim, founding member and former president of the Philippine Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, further explained how the different learning approaches help shape children’s IQ and EQ.

"Adopting the growth mindset is very relevant now—applying what you’ve learned, accepting feedback, and learning from mistakes. Children are happier when they are affirmed; they feel safe and protected. Whether it's Montessori, traditional, or progressive, giving the best care to children helps them become smart and emotionally aware kids. Keep in mind that every child is unique."

For example, child star Annika Co, who has showcased her wit and talents on her TV appearances.

According to her parents, Adrian and Anne Co, Annika has been using the applied learning approach as part of her homeschooling since she was 6 years old. As supportive parents, they just allowed their child to do whatever activities would help her develop her talents further.

Adrian and Anne related, "Our parenting style is tactical—we expose her and involve her. An example of how she learns math better and finds it interesting is that when we go to the grocery store, she will do simple addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Also, consistency is key, so both of us have the same rules and set of values. We don’t want to confuse Annika."

Celebrity mom Coleen Garcia shared the same experience with her son, Amari.

"We spend a lot of time with him and expose him to various experiences because we want Amari to adapt to different environments and interact with people. When we were in Paris, we rode buses and trains, and when we were at home, we exposed him to everyday chores like laundry day, cooking time, etc. We are doing it slowly, using a lot of intuitive tools. That way, we can observe his learning interests.

Educator Tina Zamora approves of Coleen and Annika’s parents’ way of enriching their kids’ learning experience. In addition, s/he said communicating these experiences to their teacher would help make them school-ready.

"It’s true what they say: it takes a village to raise a kid. The key is collaboration among teachers, parents, and caregivers. We need to observe and see their strengths and weaknesses so we can give them the essential support system.

The importance of MFGM in developing IQ and EQ

Being a parent means wanting the absolute best for our child. It's not only about teaching them things but also about helping them be kind and strong in this big world.

Enfagrow A+ Four stands alongside parents on this journey with the belief that a strong mind and a kind heart go hand in hand in making them ready for school.

Dr. Lim reminded parents of the importance of early nutrition to sustain and aid children’s overall development.

"If you want your kid to have a higher IQ and EQ, start them early," she said.

"A well-balanced diet and drinking milk, particularly with essential components, help support brain development, memory, and focus, ultimately enhancing a child's cognitive abilities. And a well-nourished brain also supports emotional regulation and social interactions."

Dr. Lim gives samples of food that are rich in nutrients that are important for a child’s IQ and EQ development.

MFGM, which stands for Milk Fat Globule Membrane, is an important nutrient and contains bioactive compounds that support brain development, including cognitive function and emotional development, and overall growth in children."

To further help boost their IQ and EQ, experts still advise toddlers to drink milk regularly. Enfagrow A+ Four Nurapro and Enfagrow Gentlease 3+ are the only milk formula among staged milks with MFGM that is clinically proven to help give higher IQ and EQ to last until school age, with proper nutrition and stimulation. For kids with sensitive tummies, there is Enfagrow Gentlease 3+ with PHP (partially hydrolyzed proteins), a nutrient that aids a child’s digestion and gut health (with proper nutrition and stimulation).

Adding Enfagrow A+ Four Nurapro and Enfagrow Gentlease 3+ to your kid’s regular meal is a proactive way of helping kids develop fully and be school- and future-ready together with proper nutrition and stimulation.

5 Pro Edge Experience by NestlĂ© NANKID®

On March 31, moms were treated to a one-of-a-kind learning experience at the Edsa Shangri-La Grand Isla Ballroom at The 5 Pro Edge Experience – an interactive exhibit that visualizes different areas of children’s development.

An immersive affair at the 5 Pro Edge Experience

The 5 Pro Edge Experience by NestlĂ© NANKID® was a physical space where parents could immerse themselves in the science behind childhood development. Although holistic parenting has been a buzz word for quite a while, the exhibit took it to the next level – as parents learned more about different areas of children’s development: Immunity, Allergy Prevention, Brain Development, Growth and Digestion. The ambitious but educational exhibit provided an opportunity for attendees to learn about the importance of a child’s holistic development in an immersive environment, with interactive moments in each of the five key stations.

Marketing Lead for NANKID® Aubrey Iñigo during her opening message shared NANKID’s commitment to partnering with parents in supporting children’s holistic development. She explained how the new NANKID® INFINIPRO® HA with its most scientifically advanced 5 Pro Edge formula is designed to support the different areas of children’s development, so that parents can feel confident about nourishing their children’s holistic development today and opening up infinite possibilities in the future.

Holistic Approach to Parenting for the modern parent

The morning was capped off with a panel session with moms that believe in a holistic approach in parenting – Patty Laurel-Filart, host and blogger; Xandra Rocha, entrepreneur and wellness enthusiast; and Juana Yupangco, writer and advocate for healthy living. To support the discussion with facts backed by evidence and research, the panel included Ms. Riza Ng, a clinic psychologist with specialization on Parenting & Family and faculty member of the Ateneo Bulatao Center.

During the panel discussion, they were able to delve into a variety of topics about children’s development, serving as a debrief to what they were able to experience in the exhibit. The panelists described the 5 Pro Edge Experience as interactive, mind-blowing, and enjoyable as they were able to take away key learnings as moms themselves. Among the topics discussed were the importance of holistic approach in parenting, a parent’s concerns about raising children in an ever-changing world, and the role of nutrition in holistic growth for children. According to Ms. Riza, holistic development includes physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual growth of children.

As the moms on the panel shared their challenges that come with raising pre-schoolers, navigating motherhood as first-time moms, finding balance and being present in their children’s lives, and helping manage their children’s emotions, Riza also recommended tips that aims to address these concerns, "when you’re more mindful and present for yourself and your children, then that also allows you to practice a holistic approach in parenting. You should also acknowledge and validate the fact that you're doing your best already.”

Event host and mother Anne Gauthier shared insight during the event, saying, “pre-school years are very important as this is when they go through a period of accelerated growth, when they lay strong foundations for his health, and when a whole new world of possibilities opens up. Our children have so much potential waiting to be unlocked, and really, our role as parents is to nourish and support their holistic development so they can achieve infinite possibilities.”

Gifted Brain Equals Gifted Kid: Is this the New Formula?

Saturday, January 28, 2023

The world is opening up after years of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. And with the economy slowly returning to its pre-pandemic status, parents, too, are starting to revert back to their regular, pre-pandemic lifestyle. With this, however, parents notice that their kids are growing up in a different environment versus previous generations.

“Iba na ang mga bata ngayon” is what we are realizing. They are more exposed to technology and other external stimuli as they have relied on mobile games, internet videos, and online messaging to entertain themselves and connect with their peers. But due to the limited exposure and activities for years, they also experienced delays in brain development. Luckily, parents can still address this and raise their kids into gifted kids amid any situation through nurturing their brain first with proper stimulation and nutrition.

During the “Gifted Together” event held at the Shangri-La, The Fort Manila in Taguig City on January 26, Pediatric experts and parents, led by event host Issa Litton, discussed how raising a gifted kid starts with a gifted brain—and what parents can do to implement this winning formula.

Dr. Sean Deoni, Associate Professor, Pediatrics and Diagnostic Imaging at Brown University said 90% of a kid’s brain development happens during the first five years of their lives. A big part of this development is the brain’s myelination, a process by which information is being processed quickly for better understanding.

In fact, studies have shown, particularly the World’s First Pediatric Neuroimaging Study, that “an increase of +36% percent in myelin can lead to faster language development, together with proper nutrition and stimulation”, says Dr. Sean.

“The brain continues to develop as we grow older. But the brain’s development also has a trajectory that is often dictated by how it grows during our childhood, particularly from birth to five years of age. And studies have shown, particularly at the World’s First Pediatric Neuroimaging Study to help advance brain development, that processes during brain development, can enhance the brain’s functions. These processes—for instance, myelination—can be supported by proper diet and nutrition,” Dr. Deoni said.

Dr. Ryan Carvalho, Chief Medical Officer & Global Head of Nutrition Product Development Center said that brain development depends highly on two factors: time and nutrition. Docosahezaenic acid (DHA) in kid’s milk is known to be an essential nutrient that promotes health and development. DHA, with a kid’s regular healthy diet, is believed to help promote adequate brain development. But Carvalho said that with the additional health risks due to the pandemic—particularly how it has affected the kid’s dietary habits and exposure to health risks and stimulation—this may not be enough.

Carvalho said improving kid’s diet and nutrition can usurp these adverse effects and put brain development on the right track. For instance, he noted that studies have shown that DHA together with Milk Oligosaccharides (MOS+), which includes Sialic Acid, helps double up the development of memory, learning, and cognitive skills in kids.

Carvalho explained, “With how our world has changed due to the pandemic, it’s important to pay closer attention to our kid’s diet. Kids are more susceptible to hindrances in their brain development. So parents should implement changes and improvements to their lifestyles and diets to prevent these roadblocks from affecting their kids in their growth.”

As a mother herself, Georgina Wilson said it’s enlightening to learn how important nurturing the kid’s gifted brain is in raising a gifted kid. “With so many factors affecting our lives and health, we as parents need to be more proactive in learning these things,” she said. Wilson added that joining parenting groups and reading articles on raising kids, taking educational classes, as well as supplementing her kid’s diet with PROMIL have helped her and her kids.

“That’s why in Wyeth Nutrition, we strive to bring in experts because we want to listen to the needs of Filipino parents, so that we can continuously innovate our products,” said Mea Guinhawa-Gabunada, Group Brand Manager for PROMIL, Wyeth Philippines Inc.

As studies have proven, a gifted kid begins with a gifted brain. And parents can help raise these gifted kids with the help of PROMIL.

PROMIL FOUR has the NutriGift System with Milk Oligosaccharides (MOS+), which, with DHA and a proper diet, can double up your kid’s brain development! PROMIL GOLD FOUR has Alpha-Lipids, an ingredient that helps increase the brain’s myelin production, known to help advance language development.

Achieve the winning formula of a #GiftedBrain equals gifted kid and be #GiftedTogether with PROMIL!

Tips on sanitary way to change your baby's diaper

Wednesday, April 13, 2022

The idea of changing a baby's diaper is something I thought I could never do. It could get really messy especially if the baby is being uncooperative. Changing the diaper as fast and as clean as possible is a challenge especially for first time parents. Here are some tips on sanitary way to change your baby's diaper.

Have a designated place to change diaper

Find a place where you and your baby are most comfortable. It is also important to do the diaper change in the same spot every time because the baby is already familiar with the designated place and will make him less anxious. Use a diaper pad cover whether you are using a changing table, doing it on the bed, or the floor.

Prepare everything you need

The diaper and the baby wipe must be within your reach especially if you do not have anyone who will assist you during diaper change. Wipe the baby carefully to ensure that you are not spreading germs. Babies have the tendency to urinate during diaper change. With a baby boy, you can put a baby wipe to avoid him spraying you with urine.

Stock up on diaper and wipes to stay worry-free because your baby deserves the best protection. Use  Pampers Baby Dry Taped Diapers New Born 20s + Baby Wipes with Aloe 72sPampers Baby Dry Taped Diapers New Born is made of cottony, breathable materials that allow air to circulate to keep baby dry and protected from rashes. Baby Wipes with Aloe is as mild as washcloth and water. It is  20% thicker to help clean delicate skin gently. It is also dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic.

Dispose of diaper properly

Have a dedicated bin for the baby's diapers. Roll up the used diaper the avoid the spread of germs. Make sure that the bin has cover to contain the smell.

Wash your hands and sanitize

You can use a hand sanitizer first if you can't go right away to the sink to wash your hand with soap and water. Clean and sanitize the changing area after using.

Diaper change should not feel like a chore. You can do it lovingly and your baby will feel it. #ChoosePampers and stay worry-free when it comes to changing diaper. Score Pampers' newest product, the Newborn Kit, this April 14 only on Shopee's Brand Spotlight!

Care tips to protect your baby's delicate skin

baby skin care tips

New parents are very careful when choosing products for their babies. Most newborns are prone to skin blemishes that may harm their skin. Here are some care tips to protect your baby's delicate skin to keep them soft and smooth.

1. Resist the urge to bathe the baby often

Newborn babies have natural oil that protects their skin. Frequent bathing will strip off this oil and may cause dryness. You can give your baby a regular bath but it doesn't mean it is necessary to do it everyday. Baby skin loses moisture more quickly than adult skin that is why daily bathing is not recommended. Tips for first-time parents on raising a happy baby

Thursday, January 20, 2022

All first-time parents are always nervous if they are doing the right things. It's okay because parenting is a life-long learning process. Every parent-child relationship is unique. What works for others may not work for you. Take time to get to know and understand your baby.

Caring for a new baby brings both joy and anxiety especially when he's getting fussy. You might not always be able to guess why he is irritable. Touching and cuddling him will surely calm him down. Make sure he gets a good night sleep. How well your baby has slept through the night affects his mood during the day.

When choosing a diaper for your newborn, pick the one that good absorbency, soft to the skin, and breathable. It is also important that your baby is wearing the right size to make sure that the diaper stays in place to avoid leaking especially when sleeping.  Uni-Love Airpro baby Diaper has breathable layer  and ultrasoft topsheet.  It neutralizes the skin's pH level to avoid skin irritation. It also has an overnight leakage protection for uninterrupted sleep.

Lovingly talk to your baby as often as you can. He will find the sound of your voice very comforting. When you are cleansing him during diaper changes, you can tell him about what you are doing. Make him feel that you enjoy taking care of him. He will feel the love from the tone of your voice. Don't just use any ordinary wipes.

For your baby's sensitive skin, use Uni-Love Unscented Baby Wipes. It contains the natural properties of aloe vera, lanolin and Vitamin E. It is natural, mild and effective cleansing for your baby's delicate skin and prevents rashes. It is also proved to have thicker and softer fabric compared to ordinary wipes.

Newborns do not have teeth yet but you should clean your baby's mouth after feeding. He might feel a bit of discomfort and cry. Pause and stroke him to make him feel safe. Put him in a comfortable position and then try again wiping his gums gently. When his teeth starts coming out, you can begin using a soft toothbrush and age-appropriate toothpaste.

At age 3, you can use Uni-Love Probiotic Training Toothpaste for Toddlers. It promotes healthy oral care habit for your toddler’s primary teeth and is available in strawberry ice cream flavor for a more enjoyable brushing experience.

Touching, smiling, singing, and talking to your newborn creates a bond that contributes in your child's happy disposition and well-being. Make Uni-Care your partner in raising a happy baby. Save on exclusive deals with Uni-Care's Shopee Brand Spotlight on January 25.

Can’t Stop, won’t Stop Kembot: Why these Babies won’t Stop Dancing

Tuesday, November 16, 2021

Nothing beats the feeling of a Power Parent when they witness their baby in their most active state. For each likot, kembot, and galaw that baby does, it instantly sends a rush of happiness especially at a time when everything around you seems out of control.

When active play and learning is encouraged, it stimulates baby for their next level of development. Babies also have a natural way of expressing their needs. Emotions and thoughts are voiced through movement. Similarly, babies are also always curious. When they see adults dance and sing to music, their natural reaction is to move to the beat. Dancing promotes body coordination, motor skills, and strength. It stimulates almost every area of baby’s brain, encouraging the cognitive development growth.

An active baby is a happy, and comfortable baby. When baby isn’t as active, it might be caused by uncomfortable triggers like rashes. That’s why Power Parents choose the NEW Pampers Pants with Rash Shield! The NEW Pampers Rash Shield protection is now powered by Lotion with ALOE! This helps babies have good skin and overall health, so they can be active and comfortable to kembot, any time of the day.

Only Pampers Pants can keep babies all-around protected from rashes because of the elevated skin health proposition, Rash Shield with ALOE ingredient, improved leak, skin protection cues and wider diaper perception, and new fresh aloe scent. Now, baby can dance freely and explore with Pampers’ improved protection from rashes and leaks.

Upgraded Johnson's Milk+Rice range provides #PoweredUpProtection for growing babies

Thursday, September 02, 2021

Many parents consider their babies turning one year old a milestone to be celebrated. It marks their entry into a new age and stage in their childhood– the toddler stage. This stage is especially exciting for first-time parents– as they witness a lot of firsts in their babies’ growth and development. Toddlers in this stage of development are significantly more mobile compared to when they were infants. These growing babies are now able to crawl, climb, and even begin to walk, leaving parents trailing behind and worried about their baby’s skin. Babies’ skin is one of the causes of concern as they become more adventurous because their toddlers are now beginning to encounter different surfaces with the uncertainty of how their skin would react. With this, moms are looking for the best way to provide the protection their babies’ developing skin needs.

JOHNSON’S® Baby, as the leading brand for childcare products, provides the best solution for protecting growing babies’ skin through its newly upgraded Milk+Rice Bath and Lotion. The reformulation calls for 100% more milk proteins and real rice extracts that protect, so when used together, both Bath and Lotion create a gentle layer of protection on baby’s skin against skin microdamage– which is characterized by dryness causing redness and irritation. The company launched the reformulation of the Milk+Rice Bath and Lotion through its campaign, #PoweredUpProtection, which centers around the kulit-likot phase of toddlers and growing babies. The campaign features celebrity mombassador Anne Curtis and her daughter Dahlia, who both appeared in their first TV Commercial with JOHNSON’S® Baby.

The campaign launched with its virtual event called the JOHNSON’S® Milk+Rice Powerville that unveiled and celebrated the reformulated range with our partner Mombassador communities, media partners, as well as the public---it was the brand’s first ever activation of its kind. Crismer Tiria, senior marketing manager at Johnson & Johnson Philippines Inc., remarked, “Our team was excited to open the gates to JOHNSON’S® Milk+Rice Powerville. We wanted the brand to adapt to how events are done these days to still reach our audiences who are mostly staying at home.”

Anne was able to share her excitement for the campaign and the launch event itself, “I couldn’t be happier when I learned that I would be taking part in my JOHNSON’S® family’s first virtual event of its kind. I hope that all my fellow moms were able to know more about how they can best take care of their little ones and of course, had fun.”

Guests were able to explore the different spots in the digital town from their personal devices. Among the spots of Powerville was the Pavilion, where they were able to watch celebrity mombassador Anne Curtis engaging in a dialogue with head of Scientific Engagement for Baby Care APAC Robert Kwon, and Dr. Marivi Dizon, a pediatric dermatologist. They talked about the importance of providing the #PoweredUpProtection toddlers need, as well as letting the audience know more about the upgraded Milk+Rice formula.

Robert Kwon explained the motivation behind the new formula, “Johnson’s Baby has always been the leading brand for baby care because of our efforts to innovate and improve our products. We constantly conduct studies and research to make sure that our products are the best quality and designed for babies. Our highlight product for today, the new Johnson’s Milk+Rice contains 100% more milk proteins than the previous product, that can help nourish skin, plus real rice extracts that can help protect.” He introduced the Milk+Rice products as the solution to combatting the common threats of skin microdamage, while Dr. Marivi explained more about what these are. “Skin microdamage means that there is an effect on babies’ skin coming from impact or friction, even if we don’t visibly see the damage on their skin. As the term suggests, this is more evident when we look closely on a tissue level or under a special microscope. This can differ for every baby. For some, this can look like red patches on their knees or elbows because of crawling. Some babies also experience this as having flaky and dry skin from the lack of moisturization. There are also other cases that manifest irritation through rashes.”

Moms were also able to experience various fun activities found in different booths, such as the Play Area and Mom & Baby Photobooth. They visited the Neighbormoms area and heard what their fellow moms had to say about the new Bath and Lotion and the kulit-likot stage. The event also made purchasing the new product more convenient and accessible as e-commerce platforms were linked.

JOHNSON’S® Baby senior marketing manager Crismer Tiria expressed his gratitude to all the loyal consumers and guests present at the event. “On behalf of our team, I would like to thank everyone for joining us at JOHNSON’S® Baby Milk+Rice Powerville. I am so excited for mothers and parents to see what we have in store for the rest of the campaign, and hope that their unwavering support to the JOHNSON’S® Baby brand continues on.”

The upgraded JOHNSON’S® Milk+Rice Bath and Lotion are available in J&J PH Chat & Shop, all leading supermarkets, and official Johnson & Johnson Shopee and Lazada accounts. Achieve balanced nutrition for your child with Pediasure Plus

Tuesday, July 06, 2021

When you child reaches school age, their nutritional needs also changes. The problem is, most pre-schoolers are picky eaters.  They usually have a favorite food -- fried chicken, cookies, french fries. Making them eat a healthy, balanced diet is a struggle for parents. Instead of getting frustrated, parents should be patient when introducing new taste and food texture. Some children are also sensitive to smell and will immediately refuse to eat food they find unappealing.

A child's eating habit won't change overnight. Slowly introduce your child to vegetables by adding them to some of his favorite food. You can make a puree of carrots and add it to his spaghetti sauce. You can also chop cabbage and mix into his chicken soup.

To make sure that your child gets the nutrition he needs, give him a nutritional supplement drink. Pediasure Plus is formulated for pre-schooler kids above 3 years old. It is clinically proven to provide a hard-to-feed child optimal nutrition for healthy growth, development and immunity.

Pediasure Plus is gluten-free and lactose-free so mommies need not worry about food intolerance.

You can purchase Pediasure Plus at the Abbott Philippines Shopee Storehttps://shp.ee/v4hd673 this coming Shopee 7.7 Mid-year Sale.
