Lookna - Hyperlocal Search Engine For Business Advertising

Friday, July 28, 2017

The term hyperlocal can be used as a noun in isolation or as a modifier of some other term (e.g. news). It connotes having the character of being oriented around a well defined, community scale area with a primary focus being directed towards the concerns of its residents. When used in isolation it refers to the emergent ecology of data (including textual content), aggregators, publication mechanism and user interactions and behaviors which center on a resident of a location and the business of being a resident."

Today, we have satellite, social networks, and mobile devices to reach out to local markets. Since people first began exchanging ideas, goods, and services, they have been using one form or another of hyperlocal marketing. The conspicuous rise of internet users, surge of payment options, a proliferation of geolocation aware devices and suitable demographics have paved the way for hyperlocal businesses. There is no telling where technology will take us in fifty years, but whatever new hi-tech developments and gadgets become available, you can be assured that everyone from teens to preachers to businesses will find new ways to get their message out to others. Hyperlocal marketing will be around long after the term itself, "hyperlocal," becomes old news. History has already proven that.

Hyperlocal describes as a very specific area, locally (in proximity) very close to home (or, your place of business.) Examples include the people in your office, local park, driving down the main street, and everyone else within walking or driving distance to a particular destination, or, that are united somehow into one identifiable community.

There are three simple tips you can follow to get the ball rolling and start improving your rankings immediately.

-Include hyperlocal keywords.

We would like to make things easier and fair in Lookna. Forget the old ways of research and composing of ads in limited characters. We provide simple and straightforward listing that shows important information about your business such as your business name, address, operating hours & more.

-Insert your business address.

Lookna has a map feature that enables you to drag the map marker to correctly pin your location, thus allowing possible clients to know where your physical location is. This can be an advantage as clients can drop by your store or business location to do business with you personally.

-Provide your name, address, and phone number in multiple directories.

Managing your Lookna Advertiser’s Account:

Your User Profile - contains the information you have entered into Lookna. This includes your Personal Information, Account Information and the verification documents you have submitted. Your Dashboard - displays the listings you have created. Messages - your conversations with services provider you have contacted. Billing Account - This is where the payment methods, preferences, billing history and subscriptions are.

Hyperlocal platforms solve the problem of matching immediate demand with the nearest available supply in the most optimized manner. For example, if you need your air conditioner fixed, wish to order food from a fine dining restaurant or want to get a haircut within the comforts of your drawing room, just look to the nascent and yet gigantic hyperlocal ecosystem for a solution.

6 Foolproof Features To Look For In A Laptop

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

When the laptop I have been using for the past ten years gave up on me, I was at a loss on how to find the perfect replacement. My hubby was the one who bought that laptop from the US and so when it's my turn to buy one on my own, I spent days googling for the features I should consider in buying a laptop.

Compact yet versatile enough to handle day-to-day applications, a laptop is the best tool for working, studying, browsing the Internet, watching movies, or playing games on the go. Though tablets and smartphones are smaller in size, most don’t want to trade off a laptop’s longer battery life, robust features, and the solid feeling of an actual keyboard.

While major brands like to highlight all the different and new technical features in their laptops – from the buzzwords about processors, types of storage, graphics capabilities, and screen resolution – Lenovo will cut to the chase in this buying guide and highlight the essential features that we think an everyday laptop should have.

1. Long battery life

Battery life is one of the most important considerations for many laptop shoppers. With an empty battery, your laptop is nothing but an expensive paper weight. On average, most laptops can be used for 4 to 6 hours on a single charge.
ThinkPad X270

With Lenovo’s Power Bridge battery technology, certain Lenovo laptops can deliver up to 13.9 hours of use on a single charge. The external battery packs a charge of 7 hours while the internal Power Bridge battery adds another 6.9 hours of surfing, streaming, gaming, and more.

If you have a spare battery that is hot-swappable, this means you can use your laptop for more than 13.9 hours without ever turning it off.

2. A fast processor

Your laptop's processor is like its brain. Working in combination with system memory, the power of the processor determines the complexity of software you can run, how many programs you can open at the same time, and how fast those programs will run.

Intel, the world’s most popular processor, recently launched their 7th generation “Kaby Lake” processors. Kaby Lake’s Hyper-Threading feature lets users more efficiently do performance-heavy tasks such as 3D and video rendering. To the delight of movie buffs, its upgraded graphics core can also stream videos in beautiful and crisp 4K quality.

3. Light and portable

If portability matters to you, then screen size and weight are what you need to consider when you pick a laptop. Usually, a laptop with a 13-inch or smaller display and a weight of under three pounds is good for on-the-go users.

ThinkPad T470
4. Plug and play

Installing software to a laptop can be a long and arduous task. Therefore, some laptops come pre-installed with an operating system, as well as other essential software like office applications and messaging tools, reducing the setup time and effort needed from users. If you need a laptop that you can use from the get-go, check that it has the basic software and programs installed out of the box.

5. Durability

Because laptops are lighter and more compact, they are not as tough as desktop computers. With this in mind, you want to choose a laptop that is durable enough to handle the rigors and wear-and-tear of every day travel. To select a reliable laptop with great durability, look out for credentials like MilSpec or other military-grade specifications during your purchase.

As the name suggests, a laptop that has MilSpec standards is built to endure even the harshest environments and can easily brush off the most common issues that laptop users may face, including falls, extreme temperature, and even spilling liquid on the device.

ThinkPad E470
6. Biometric security features

Hardware and data theft are serious issues that all laptop users must be prepared to face. Losing important and confidential information such as business data or personal files stored inside your device can be disastrous. But the risk isn’t necessarily when you’re out and about; according to a study by Kensington titled “IT Security & Laptop Theft,” theft in office premises came in at an alarming second place behind theft while on the go.

Knowing this, you should consider buying a laptop with data security features that shield your data even if your laptop is stolen. A biometric security protocol is one of the key features in some laptops today. Through facial recognition or a fingerprint scanner, you can log in to your laptop
without keying in passwords which may be discernible to others, therefore limiting access to only you.

These features ensure a hassle-free experience that ultimately defines what an all-around laptop should be: a powerful device that you can use immediately, wherever you are, and with peace of mind. To know more about what makes a great laptop, you can visit http://www3.lenovo.com/ph/en/.

5 Smartphone Charging Tips

Friday, May 19, 2017

Smartphones have become a necessity we can no longer imagine not having them in our life. We want to be connected 24/7. But unlike a love relationship where we believe there is such a thing as forever, it's not the same with the battery life. Here's my 5 smartphone charging tips on how to get the most out of your battery.

Don't drain your battery before charging up

One of the most unfortunate things that could happen to us is a phone dying because of a drained battery. And it usually occurs when we need it not to give up on us yet. On instances when you could avoid your battery to completely drain, experts advise that it is ideal to charge your lithium ion powered phone the moment the remaining battery reaches 20%.    It would be perfect if you always bring a power bank to make sure you have more than enough juice left.

Don't use the phone while charging

Are you guilty of using your phone while charging? I am. Especially when I am playing. Oftentimes, I receive a notification that my battery usage is draining my battery faster than it is charging. There are apps (like game apps)  that use more power compared to other apps. Using your phone while charging will make the charging time longer. How about taking a break and let your phone juice up?

Don't charge your phone overnight

Is it safe to leave your phone plugged and charging overnight? There is no such thing as overcharging for lithium ion batteries. The problem you might encounter is overheating. You probably notice that sometimes it is hot when you touch the back of your phone where the battery is located when you are charging the phone. According to Android Authority, a lithium ion battery warms up as it charges. When it reaches its full charge, the battery expends the excess power by giving it off as heat.

How about charging your phone a few hours before going to bed to avoid leaving your phone plugged for hours?

Don't turn off your phone while charging

While it is true that the battery will be fully charged faster when it is turned off, it will consume a good amount of battery when you turn it on. You don't really need to turn off your phone. What you need to do is avoid using it and that there are no unnecessary processes running in the background that makes use of the battery.

Use good quality charging cable

We hear horror stories of a smartphone's battery having issues because of poor quality charging cable. What you've thought could save you money will actually make you spend more. If you are looking for a good quality charging cable to replace your defective cable, Magneto Cable is a good choice. It is 10x more durable than original cables. It is MFI certified by Apple so there is no IOS incompatibility issues. This magnetic cable offers ultra fast charging with a standard charging current of 2.4A. This USB A to magnetic connector has a length of 3.28 feet of strengthened cable.

The Magneto Cable is available at Widget City for only P500. You can purchase on this link:

Give your battery the love it deserves.
