I feel like a child again :D

To all that come to this happy place: welcome.
Disneyland is your land.
Here age relives fond memories of the past,
and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.

You will always remember this as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow.

It's a small world after all..

"Why do we have to grow up?
I know more adults who have the children's approach to life.
They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do.
You see them at Disneyland every time you go there.
They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures,
and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought -
sometimes it isn't much, either."

The Way We Travel

Friday, March 29, 2013

Whenever I travel, I always book with the flag carrier of my country. But during a recent trip to Hongkong, I could not find a good deal with my country's flag carrier so the next best option is to book with the flag carrier of the country I am visiting.

Cathay Pacific was founded in 1946. The name Cathay was derived from the ancient name of China, "Khitan" and Pacific from the vision that one day it will fly across the pacific. I'm a big fan of everything online. I'm glad the online booking on the carrier's website down to online check in was fuss free.

Like any other airlines, Cathay Pacific has a frequent flyer program. Actually, they have two. The Asia Miles which is the travel reward program and The Marco Polo Club, also known as The Club, which is the loyalty program.

I had a wonderful experience with Cathay Pacific and vowed to book with this airline the next time I visit Hongkong, Macau or China.

Kamay Ni Hesus

A favorite destination among Catholics during Holy Week is Kamay ni Hesus in Lucban, Quezon. Father Joseph "Joey" Faller, the Healing Priest, officiates Healing Mass here. The schedule of Healing Mass is every Wednesday and Saturday, 9:30am to 12 noon.

I believe that Father Joey has been instrumental to my mother's triumph from her breast cancer battle in 2002.

Bulacan Sweets

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

My dad went to Bulacan yesterday with his High School batchmates for their annual Bisita Iglesia. He brought home two of my favorite Bulacan pasalubong goodies -- inipit and pastillas.

Inipit is a custard-filled flat chiffon sandwich. Guiguinto, Bulacan is best known for this delicacy. The first time I have tasted Inipit was way back in college when my friend Josephine gave me a box of this yummy treat. The inipit that my dad brought home is from Eurobake. I saw from the box that it has branches in Metro Manila.

The best pastillas for me! My dad used to bring home this pastillas from Bulacan every Christmas when he was still working. This plainly wrapped dessert is stacked up in a chalkbox-like packaging.

The Bulacan pastillas has a smooth and creamy texture.  Unlike other pastillas that are made from regular milk, this is made from carabao's milk. You'll easily notice the rich taste and the soft, melt in your mouth goodness.

My Yoville Life

Me and my friends got so addicted playing YoVille a few years ago. It's the Facebook app that I enjoyed the most. I was able to purchase twelve properties (lol!) and truckloads of furniture, decors and appliances.

Here are some of my properties:

CHATEAU DE VILLE

The Chateau de Ville is where I really live. I made sure that this property has the most awesome bathroom. My friends come over here and stay at the recreation room most of the time.

The Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix Drama

2013 Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix Podium Finishers

It rained. Oh well, it always rain in Malaysia's race.
Kimi Raikkonen was penalized and started 10th position instead of 7th.
Fernando Alonso was out early in the race.
Lewis Hamilton found himself in the McLaren garage.
A very bad pit stop for Jenson Button.

And just when I thought that the drama was over, we were presented with very unhappy podium finishers.

But this Red Bull Webber-Vettel and Mercedes Hamilton-Rosberg drama is a good break from the drama of Kris Aquino and James Yap (president's sister/basketball player) and Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista (senator/very rich actress). Never mind readers. Most of you probably do not know them. Although they seem to be of national interest here, don't waste your time googling about them and their issues.

Back to the Formula One drama which I never expected...

I feel bad for Mark Webber. He has the right to be furious.

I don't really hate Vettel after the incident. He did wrong. I just can't hate him. No, I'm not a big fan. I like that he is bold and daring. I believe he's great. Needs some coaching though. He was selfish in this race. I just don't get why he did that for an extra 8 points. It's just the second race of the year.

I feel bad for Hamilton and Rosberg. They are good friends. Hamilton won but with a heavy heart. He doesn't feel he deserved the third spot. But they have to do what they have to do. At least, the Mercedes incident is easier to accept. I don't think the friendship and the relationship as teammates suffered as much as the awkward situation the Red Bull drivers are facing.

Three weeks to China... let's wait and see.

Sans Rival Cakes and Pastries

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Finally, I was able to indulge in the famous dessert from Dumaguete City courtesy of my youngest sister. The yummiest sans rival and silvanas I've tasted so far. I'm not a dessert person but whenever she brings home this delight from Sans Rival Cakes and Pastries, I just can't say no.

Candy Crush Addiction

Monday, March 18, 2013

I was just curious.

I saw facebook posts from friends. I was ignoring them for weeks. Until curiosity got the better of me. I clicked one post and since then I've been crushing candies.

I'm now asking friends to send me lives as often as possible. Oh, why does it take so long for the lives to refill?!

Whenever I need tickets to move forward, I want the tickets right away. As in NOW.

I have the app installed in the iPad and iPod.

I want to always have three stars.

I want to have the highest score among friends in all levels.

I'm a certified addict.

Are you one of us?

The Garden Project

Saturday, March 16, 2013

It has been my dream of having a nice garden. But I was not born with a green thumb. I can't seem to grow plants. I'm lucky that my husband is blessed with whatever I lack.

Compared to the 169 square meters garden space of our former house, our recently bought townhouse has a small garden space. I think this is only 5 square meters.

We weren't able to bring with us our plants so we bought new plants.

Red palms, solar lamps and some stones..

Almost done. We patiently need to wait for the flowers to bloom.
