Ben&Ben releases Kintsugi-inspired video for “Di Ka Sayang”

 Ben&Ben Di Ka Sayang

Ben&Ben’s new single “Di Ka Sayang” managed to surpass expectations when it trended at No.1 worldwide on Twitter and debuted at the top spot of Spotify Philippines’ top 50 overall chart upon release. Following its massive debut on Friday, Ben&Ben’s “Di Ka Sayang” continues to spread its winsome streak as it drops the official music video on November 9, Monday at 6pm. Helmed by

Jorel Lising, the band’s frequent collaborator and the director behind their hits “Pagtingin” and “Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin,” the visual accompaniment of the song follows the band performing in random intimate spaces with ‘Kintsugi’ artform as the backdrop.

According to vocalist and guitarist Paolo Benjamin, the inspiration behind the pottery repair method as the binding theme came from their production designer, Ms. Dianne Khu. “During the planning of the video, things came together in a very organic kind of way and we thought it fit the concept perfectly,” Paolo said in a statement. “Kintsugi is the Japanese art of piecing together broken parts of pottery with gold glue. By doing this, brokenness is made whole in a way that is much better than it previously was. Our percussionist Andrew even has a tattoo of ‘wabi-sabi,’ which is the Japanese philosophy of accepting and finding meaning in the imperfections in life and nature. We really saw Kintsugi as a powerful way to represent self-acceptance.”

Honoring the importance of embracing one’s flaws and accepting brokenness as something that you need to display with pride and not hide, the song sends a vital message to listeners who are going through difficult challenges in life, especially with the pandemic crisis taking a toll on everyone’s mental health. Vocalist and guitarist Miguel Benjamin points out, “This year has been the toughest year for many people from our generation, and a lot of us are in this state wherein a lot of plans, dreams, hopes, and goals were compromised, cancelled or rather ‘sayang.’ Even for us personally as a band, we had a hard time dealing with these same struggles. What we wanted to share however, is that we are never alone in our hardships, and that there is still hope in a better tomorrow.”

This Wednesday, Ben&Ben will be releasing a special BBTV episode on their YouTube channel, which to date has more than 1.2 million subscribers. The award-winning nine-piece collective will also be performing at Lazada SuperShow 11.11 on November 10 (Tuesday) and at Wishbus Exclusive on November 12 (Thursday). The music video of “Di Ka Sayang” is now available on YouTube.

Parent-Child Sweet Sarap Bonding Moments with Jolly Spaghetti

Monday, November 19

My parents were both working when me and my sisters were still young. Most of our family bonding moments were during meal time. We get to share how our day went while enjoying the food prepared by my mom.

Jollibee hosted a “Sweet-Sarap Bonding Time” for parents and kids to relaunch its ongoing advocacy of giving unwavering love and spending quality time with kids during their formative years. Right before the parent and kid guests gathered to play, program host Gelli Victor chatted with parent panelists Melissa Ricks, Tina Lata, Japoy Lizardo, and Delamar Arias about their own parenting tips and experiences.

In a new video that’s sure to melt your heart, Jollibee presents the small, tender moments shared by parents and their children everyday. Filled with slices of daily life that many modern Filipino parents can relate to, this new video’s sweet-sarap moments are complemented by a classic favorite that has captured the hearts of Pinoy kids of different generations: Jolly Spaghetti.

This video is filled with simple yet touching moments that will definitely make your heart feel full. It shows parents making the most of the time they spend with their children by making everyday activities such as playtime, snack time, bath time, and bedtime more fun and memorable.

“The latest Jolly Spaghetti video is our tribute to Filipino parents who tirelessly find ways to connect and bond with their children, even in the smallest ways like sharing their favorite sweet-sarap treat,” said Cathleen Capati, Jollibee AVP for Marketing – Flagship Category. “Childhood always goes by so fast and for parents, it’s important to enjoy and cherish every moment with our children.”

For decades, Jolly Spaghetti has always been a delight for Pinoy kids of all ages. A pioneering fast-food offering that perfectly captures the Filipino palate, Jolly Spaghetti boasts of a unique sweet-sarap sauce, meaty hotdog slices, and a generous sprinkling of grated cheese on top of freshly prepared noodles.

“We at Jollibee hope that this video inspires parents to make even the simplest day-to-day activities, such as enjoying a common favorite like Jolly Spaghetti, a means to connect with their kids for that bonding na walang kasing-sarap,” concluded Capati.

Make each bonding moment sweet-sarap with the Jolly Spaghetti Family Pan for P199 only, good for sharing with the family! Independence Day. Coffee. And Why Starbucks Spells Your Name Wrong.

Friday, June 12

I woke up early today for my #FreedomFriday. This is a day I have the freedom to do and eat whatever I want and I usually start my #MeTime at Starbucks SM City Masinag. Today, it coincides with the Philippine Independence Day. It has been 117 years since General Emilio Aguinaldo declared our independence in Kawit, Cavite.

I always try out Starbucks' feature beverages. I so loved last month's Dark Mocha Panna Cotta. One of my favorite beverages from Starbucks is the coffee jelly. I was ecstatic when I found out this month's featured beverages -- Caramel Triple Coffee Jelly Frappuccino® Blended Beverage and Strawberry Cheesecake Frappuccino® Blended Beverage. The Coffee Jelly at the bottom of this featured beverage is soft compared to the chewy coffee jelly of their regular frappuccino. But I like them both!

Now this is something interesting. People always misspell and mispronounce my name but Starbucks usually get it right!

And after watching this video "Why Starbucks Spells Your Name Wrong" I dunno if I wanted my name spelled correctly! :)

TGIF my dear readers!!! Care to share how Starbucks misspelled your name? :)

Scam or Not: How To Spot A Pyramid Scheme

Tuesday, June 9

If you have a Facebook account, you probably have experienced being flooded by posts about how to get rich fast accompanied by pictures of people with bundles of money and luxury cars. We all know that there's no such a thing as easy money. Even those who are into multi-level marketing are investing not just money but also time and effort to make it big.

I've been reading a lot about Emgoldex, Royale, SWA and other small networking /  multilevel businesses on the internet. A lot of negative feedback about these companies are all over the web. I have friends who invested in these companies and some of them are really earning. I'm a conservative investor and I prefer my money in time deposits and mutual funds even though they don't earn much.

Someone shared this video on facebook and I feel the need to share.

I wanna know your thoughts. Drop me a line. :)

Update 12th June 2015

Amongst the companies who are into networking, EMGOLDEX is the most popular as of the moment. Just this morning, an article about EMGOLDEX has been posted at GulfNews.Com saying

When contacted by Gulf News, a DMCC spokesperson denied that the companies [Emgoldex and Gold and Silver Physical Metals KG] are registered with the government regulator of commodities trading.

“Emgoldex is not a DMCC-licensed company. DMCC has taken steps to prevent further misuse of our name.”
