Inspired by their highly anticipated third studio album, The Traveller Across Dimensions, the concert will introduce a new dimension of storytelling, combining live music with cutting-edge multimedia elements. This special concert is designed to exude a cinematic experience, integrating the excitement of a live performance with the confines of filmmaking. Ben&Ben’s The Traveller Across Dimensions concert aims to elevate the theatricality of their previous shows, hinting at exploring new, interactive technology to further enhance the show.

Beststroked Summer Music Festival at SM City Taytay an ultimate success

Thursday, June 15

It's the last hurray for summer as SM City Taytay hosted the hottest music festival in Rizal. Beatstroked Summer Music Festival got postponed due to the typhoon but it was worth a week's wait!

It has been 7 years since the last Beatstroked concert and loyal SM City Taytay shoppers queued up early to get the best spot on the concert ground and be as close as they can get to their favorite bands. It was a night filled with music, dancing, and jumping as The Knobs, Dotty's World, Chocolate Factory, DJ Jet Boado / X Factor, Typecast, and Silent Sanctuary put the crowd in frenzy with their popular songs.

To score a Beatstroked event pass, SM City Taytay customers only need to present a minimum single or accumulated receipt purchase from any tenants worth Two Thousand Five Hundred (₱2,500) for VIP pass and One Thousand Pesos (₱1,000) for General Admission.

The Knobs opened the show at 7 and the crowd's energy was already so high. It was my first time to experience such pumped up energy as I watch and film them from the stage.

Dotty's World was the next to perform then followed by a DJ mix from Jet Boado X Factor. Typecast then performed their hit songs and covers and the rainfall made it more dramatic. But no amount of rain can dampen the party mood! Chocolate Factory, a reggae band, kept the crowd alive and begging for more. The Silent Sanctuary was the last to perform and even at past midnight, the crowd sustained the energy and excitement until almost 1:30am.

It was truly a successful event hosted by SM City Taytay. You made Rizaleños end of summer truly fun and memorable. We can't wait for next summer!

Best known as the proponent and organizer of Vispop, the songwriting campaign that brought Bisaya music into the mainstream, Artist Ko will be teaming up with concert promoter GNN Entertainment Productions to mark an auspicious start for a meaningful partnership in the live music scene and bring more engaging events to Cebu in the near future.

Gitamondoc adds, “Part of that success was our sensitivity to the Cebuano audience—what they like to hear, what they are drawn to. Cebu is not just a city. It is a community with a strong identity and a lot of shared values. So when GNN Entertainment Productions approached us to partner with them for this event, that signalled to us their commitment to be respectful to the community.”

Aside from Ebe Dancel’s headlining set, the highly anticipated show will also mark the big-screen debut of the Sa Wakas documentary, which was shot and produced early this year to mark the 20th anniversary of the landmark album. Its director, producer, and creator Cyrian Agujo, will be attending and presenting the film for the first time to the Cebu audience.

Guest performances from Manila and Cebu acts will also be revealed in the coming days/weeks, with the latter being specifically handpicked by Ebe Dancel himself.

With critically acclaimed albums, sold-out concerts, and chart-topping songs under his belt, Ebe Dancel has established himself as one of the biggest pop/rock crossovers of the last two decades.

His biggest hits include "Huwag Ka Nang Umiyak," "Hari Ng Sablay," "Mariposa," "Burn Out," "Tulog Na," "Prom," "Telepono," "Cuida," "Bawat Daan," and more!

Tickets to Ebe Dancel Live In Cebu are available for purchase starting June 14, 2023 (Wednesday) at 6pm via bit.ly/ebexcebu.

Filipino singer-songwriter Barbie Almalbis marks a monumental milestone in music with the official release of her Tower Sessions Live album under Sony Music Entertainment and a reunion concert featuring her iconic bands Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle.

Both celebrations honor her 25th anniversary in the local music scene as a woman who successfully navigated the realm of Pinoy rock with emotionally resonant songwriting and artistic independence.

Presenting a new arrangement of her old and new songs, Barbie Almalbis’ Greatest Hits live album was produced by Eric and Carlo Perlas of Tower of Doom, recorded by Kyle Cayton, and mixed/mastered by Simon Durias. It will also feature career-defining hits such as “Firewoman,” “Torpe,” “Tabing Ilog,” “The Dance,” “Goodnight,” and “Just A Smile,” along with fairly new tracks: “Days Are Long,” “Silaw,” “Tigre,” and “Kumpas,” the album’s carrier single.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to record our songs live, because we’re always rearranging songs as a band, and I think there’s something special that gets captured when the we play live together,” Almalbis shares. “My producers and collaborators did such a great job of making you feel like you’re at the gig. You can feel the power of the kick drum and the bass, and then have guitars blasting in your ear — in a pleasant way, of course.”

Barbie Almalbis 25th Anniversary Concert

Aside from the release of Tower Sessions Live on digital platforms, Barbie Almalbis is set to headline her 25th Anniversary concert at 123 Block, Mandala Park on March 11 (Saturday), from 2pm onwards. Celebrating the impact of her music as a guide to many people’s journey in life, the show will reunite her with former bandmates in Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle.

Aptly titled Firewoman:25 Years of Barbie Almalbis, the mini-music fest will also feature sets by some of the country’s finest acts, including Sandwich, Gab Alipe of Urbandub, Clara Benin, I Belong To The Zoo, Kai del Rio, and Bird.

Reflecting on her career as an artist, Almalbis expressed gratitude to her fans who have been supportive of her endeavors through the years. “I didn’t have so many plans growing up, but always just dreamt of playing music. I’m so grateful that I get to do this and share the experience with others too. I’m always touched by the support of my fans and friends, and really humbled and encouraged by their words and stories about how these songs have also become part of their journey.”

Barbie Almalbis’ Tower Sessions Live is now available on all digital platforms worldwide under Sony Music Entertainment.

Tickets to her upcoming concert, Firewoman:25 Years of Barbie Almalbis are available for purchase via TicketMelon. Enjoy the ‘90s nostalgia at the Eraserheads’ Ang Huling El Bimbo reunion concert

Eraserheads Reunion Concert

There is no Filipino group that captured the sound of the ‘90s quite like the Eraserheads. From the poignant “Huling El Bimbo” to the lively “Pare Ko” and so much more, their songs defined a generation and have become an indelible part of Pinoy pop culture.

This December 22, relive the nostalgia of the ‘90s with Eraserheads’ Ang Huling El Bimbo reunion concert, presented by PLDT, at the SMDC Concert Grounds, Pasay City. Catch vocalist Ely Buendia, drummer Raymund Marasigan, bassist Buddy Zabala, and guitarist Marcus Adoro in a one-night concert that is truly a homage to new and old fans.

An epic musical journey

The reunion concert is not only a celebration of the legacy of the band, but also the culmination of each member’s musical journey.

The band has come a long way in three decades. Eraserheads formed in the members’ college days at the University of the Philippines Diliman back in 1989 after vocalist Ely Buendia posted an ad for an audition, and only Marasigan, Zabala, and Adoro showed up. They would go on to enjoy a strong career that spanned the 1990s, leaving a lasting impact on Filipino culture that is still felt to this day.

After breaking up in 2002 following Buendia’s departure, each member pursued their separate musical journeys. Today, Buendia fronts the band Apartel, Marasigan leads popular OPM band Sandwich, Zabala works as a producer and composer, and Adoro performs with his band Markus Highway.

The members had been performing in reunion concerts since 2008, with their last complete reunion at the launch event for PLDT’s rebranding in 2016.

“The journey has been long, and the past 30 years have been full of many detours for each of us. All the stuff that we learned over the decades on our own, we’re bringing it on December 22,” said Zabala.

The band will also be joined in the concert by THE AMP (Asosasyon ng Musikong Pilipino) ORCHESTRA helmed by maestro Mel Villena.

“Most of our songs are super layered, with lots of guitars. Of course, being true blue music fans, we also dabbled in orchestral arrangements,” according to Buendia, also mentioning that the setup complements their layered sound. “I think this is the first time that we’re able to play our songs as we intended.”

“The orchestra, somebody mentioned it in the first meeting, we thought it was funny but I think [Hi Definition Radio, Inc. CEO] Francis [Lumen] was serious,” said Marasigan. “We didn’t know he was serious about the orchestra until the first day we rehearsed with them, so we weren’t sure if we were gonna make it. It’s gonna be fun. It’s gonna be dangerous.”

Beyond the orchestra and the band, the concert will also feature a special hologram performance from the late Filipino rap legend Francis Magalona. “Francis M. was supposed to perform with them [in the 2009 reunion], and three days before he sadly passed away. But on December 22, you will see him perform with the band through hologram technology,” said Lumen.

The band is also very thankful for the overwhelming support from the fans. “It's not every day that a lot of people enjoy the music that the band makes. It makes it more special. We've been together for 30-odd years and our fans have grown with us, and have passed on our music to a new generation,” Zabala added.

Thursday, November 10

 Tanaw Concert

The multi-awarded singer-songwriters are teaming up for a special performance at TANAW concert, happening on November 26, Saturday.

Aside from delivering individual performances that highlight some of the defining moments of their career, Filipino singer-songwriters Acel Bisa, Aia de Leon, Barbie Almalbis, Hannah Romawac, Kitchie Nadaland Lougee Basabas will be collaborating for a special number at their joint concert dubbed TANAW, happening on November 26, Saturday (8pm onwards) at The Theatre at Solaire.

“It’s going to be a surprise, but let’s just say that we’re forming a group for a one-night-only performance that will surely delight music fans,” Barbie Almalbis shares in a press statement.

Rocking the big stage with a vibrant and dynamic set list that cuts across multiple generations, the six iconic artists are set to showcase their hard-earned legacy in a space that has always been dominated by men.

As pointed out by Aia de Leon, one of the TANAW headliners, the concert also serves as a celebration of meaningful friendships and solidarity.

“There is no other group of people who will have understood the fullness of my life, in every aspect, except for these ladies,” de Leon adds. “We grew up in an era together, we paid our dues together. We share a profound joy making music, writing songs, and performing them in front of a live audience. We've never braved a celebration in this scale together before, and I feel very blessed to be a part of this.”

TANAW marks the first time that the six solo acts will be performing together for a concert. From their early days as lead vocalists of late ‘90s/early 2000s bands, to establishing their identity as individual artists, the six acclaimed singer-songwriters have proven their staying power with sold-out tours and concerts, chart-topping singles and albums, and a dedicated fanbase.

LG OLED TV Brings You The Aurora Borealis

Tuesday, June 21

Global technology innovator LG Electronics is kicking off a campaign to make the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, visible to audiences around the globe in the most unique way—via its cutting-edge HDR-enabled 4K OLED TVs. LG will showcase the OLED Aurora Borealis at the Lights Out, Stars On concert on July 20, 2016 in Reykjavik, Iceland, featuring hometown band Of Monsters and Men. This will be followed by a four-month photo exhibition portraying the beauty of Iceland on LG OLED TVs.

The Northern Lights cannot be observed in Iceland from April to August due to the midnight sun which keeps the country lit almost 24 hours a day. To give summer tourists and residents their first opportunity to view the Aurora Borealis during the summer months, LG has invited nearly one thousand guests to the highly-anticipated concert. For one night only at the award-winning Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, its glass panels resembling the elegant Picture-on-Glass of the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV will feature 40 large OLED TVs installed in an array to display the Icelandic night sky on their perfectly black screens.

Residents of any country will have the opportunity to win tickets to the concert and an all-expenses-paid Reykjavik travel package. Competition details can be found at facebook.com/lgtv.

The campaign will also feature a photography exhibition displaying images of scenic Icelandic landscapes and night skies on LG OLED TVs. Captured by a number of talented Icelandic photographers, the images showing the natural beauty of the heavens and the Earth will be displayed in a whole new perspective on the perfect surfaces of LG OLED TVs. The photo exhibition will run from July 20 until November 20 in Harpa Concert Hall.

Throughout the campaign, LG worked closely with award-winning Icelandic writer and activist Andri Magnason as well as professional astro-photographer Sean Parker, who has created original works of art depicting the beautiful Aurora-filled night skies of Iceland. Popular tech YouTuber Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy will serve as creative director for the campaign.

During the 2006 Aurora Borealis viewing season, Magnason suggested that the city of Reykjavik come together to make the beauty of the night sky visible within the city for the first time. Magnason wanted the people of Reykjavik to see the northern lights and stars against a completely black backdrop. Just as eliminating light pollution allowed the people of Reykjavik to see the lights in all their glory, the pitch black backdrop of OLED TVs heightens the contrast and delivers richer images. LG OLED TVs feature individually illuminated pixels, eliminating the need for image-distorting LED backlights. Without this backlight, OLED TVs are capable of displaying perfect black images alongside bright, lifelike colors.

“Some people tend to overlook the beauty of nature, especially those that grace the earth only once in a blue moon. With the unmatched OLED technology found in LG TVs, the residents and tourists of Iceland will be able to witness the magic of the Northern Lights this July,” LG Philippines’ Home Entertainment VP Tony An said. “After 50 years of TV innovation, LG makes world-class experiences possible with the perfect black and perfect colors of its OLED TV.”

Here's a preview of the LG OLED TV and Northern Lights campaign.

The concert and photo exhibition will take place at the prestigious Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik. Tickets are available at tix.is/en/event/2973/lights-out-stars-on.
