PWD Artworks Exhibit at SM Marikina's Art for Everyone 2018

Monday, August 27

Have you ever wondered if you could paint? I love arts. I am fascinated by the strokes and how the hues blend to create a masterpiece. Painting an artwork was in my bucket list for years until I had mustered the courage to actually paint in August 2015.

SM Supermalls takes pride in giving its customers meaningful opportunities to bond with friends and family as SM kicks off Art For Everyone 2018 on August 27 a selling exhibit that serves as a fun venue for artists to showcase and sell their artworks and masterpieces.

Art for Everyone 2018 celebrates artist diversity – from budding artists, art enthusiasts, and hobbyists to renowned artists and art groups. Since 2016, the art fair has been delighting mall goers with a refreshing vibe in the malls through a fun-filled art sale and exhibit.

This year, Art for Everyone has come closer to customers in 23 malls all over the country. SM City Marikina supported by SM Cares, together with partners Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, Autism Society Philippines, Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, Mr. Ignacio Estrada and Tahanang Walang Hagdan, focuses on the works of these organizations and the mall aims to inspire others and collaborate leading to an inclusive society that we all aspire.

Sharing a renewed vision to further promote the local art scene and to support the upcoming Filipino artists, the week-long art fair invites everyone to discover art and to also get in touch with their artistic side and creativity through different art pieces.

“This year, Art for Everyone will give mall goers meaningful reasons to bond with loved ones as we bring this fun-filled celebration of art, creativity, and family fun moments closer to them in 23 malls across the country,” said Jonjon San Agustin, SM Supermalls SVP for marketing.

SM City Marikina’s Art for Everyone exhibit will run from August 27 until August 31, 2018 at the mall Atrium. Colorgram Goes To SM City Marikina

Sunday, August 19

It has been a challenging week for us Marikenyos. Last Saturday, I spent more than 14 hours stranded at Marcos Highway because of the waist-deep floor near Vermont. Who am I to complain? Some friends and family members had to evacuate their homes. While we try to return to our normal routine, let us be thankful that we made it through another week.

Exactly a week after, I found myself bringing some good vibes and colors to my somewhat gloomy week by taking some photos at the colorful art installation in SM City Marikina. Davies Paints and SM City Marikina has prepared fun activities from August 18-26, 2018 for all ages.

Mural, Mural on the Wall

Take a selfie/photo at the Colorgram display and post it on Instagram. Write a caption, use the hashtags #DaviesColorsSMMarikina #WeGoTogetherAtSM #EatPlayShopInTheCity and make sure you tag @SMCityMarikina. You should also tag 3 of your friends. 3 winners with the most number of likes (minimum of 200 likes) of P2,000 GC each will be announced on August 27.

Paint that FUNbrella

Showcase your artistic side on August 25 by joining the Paint that FUNbrella contest. Create colorful designs using the umbrella as your canvas.

Davies Colorgram App

Did you know that the easiest and cheapest way to give a room a new look is by painting it? The Davies Colorgram App helps you visualize your projects by creating color palettes and digitally color your walls and floor. I took this photo at the Colorgram display and painted the wall green using the app.

You can download the app from the AppStore and it will soon be available for android users.

Miniso Travel Finds at SM City Marikina

Friday, July 13

Do you love to travel? I do. A lot. But I guess I will never be good at packing light. Whether it's an overnight staycation or a trip somewhere far,  I've got non-negotiable travel essentials that I always bring with me no matter where I go.

I was at the newly-opened Miniso branch in SM City Marikina and I can't help but shop. If you are planning a trip any time soon, here are some of my travel finds at Miniso.

Travel Pillow

Unless you are travelling first class, sleeping comfortably during a trip is a challenge. I usually travel very early in the morning and I make up for lost sleep while in transit. A travel pillow keeps my head in place and also serves as an additional pillow I could cuddle.

Miniso has a section filled with cute and cuddly pillows the only problem you'll have is deciding which one to bring as your travel sleeping companion.

Headset or earphones

I download Netflix series to keep me entertained during long trips. I'm into K-drama recently (a confessed late bloomer) and even though I don't understand what the characters were saying, I want to hear their voices while reading the subtitle.

Noise-cancelling headphones also makes travelling bearable should there be passengers talking loudly or a toddler having tantrums.

Sunglasses

Need to hide those puffy eyes or a shield from the sun's bright rays? You should never leave the house without a pair of sunglasses in your bag. Plus, it's a perfect accessory for your #OOTD.

Travel-size Toiletries

I used to bring all my full size toiletries whenever I travel and they weigh more than a kilo! Good thing Miniso has leak-proof containers for my beauty stuff.

Cosmetic / Storage Bag

Of course, you need a reliable bag (my husband refers to it as "your kikay kit" with a teasing tone) to store all those mini bottles of toiletries. I like the one that I can hang in the bathroom.

Flannel Blanket

Have you ever experienced feeling so cold because the hotel did not provide a good blanket? I always bring my own blanket. It somehow makes me feel secure. A flannel blanket is light weight and the soft texture is really comforting.

Luggage

I've got 6 different sizes of luggage at home. The most used is the smallest since I'm fond of hotel staycations in the city. I was amazed when I saw the MINIGO suitcase. It is lightweight and an affordable version of the one I own.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in you sail. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain

So, where do you plan to go? How about travelling to Miniso at SM City Marikina for starters?

PS. I need a hat.
